For this episode, Nichole digs into both the 2022 and 2024 versions of Speak No Evil and specifically the character(s) of Abel/Ant - the young boy that we are told has congenital aglossia. How does lack of communication make him more vulnerable to abuse? Why doesn’t anyone ask more pointed questions about how to communicate with him? How do the ending of both films, especially where we leave the character, speak to how we value the lives of folks with disabilities?
