Today's episode is inspired by a conversation I was having with my friend Michaela in the sauna. I had the realization of how health focused I am TODAY & how much I used to WANT this so bad for me.
& truly I have my chronic illness to thank for that.
BUT finding gratitude for chronic illness is not something that comes naturally & UNDERSTANDLY SO.
In today's episode I talked about:

Over the last few weeks I have been noticing that I tend to Dim myself down around certain people or when I do show up as the fully expressive version of myself, I question myself after! Can you relate?
In high school I was the SHY timid girl & sometimes that version of me still can come out. But I'm ready to break out of that & were talking about it TODAY!!

I was VERY intimidated by diving deep into my past. I also had a sense that I didn't need to heal my inner child because "It's made me who I am today & I'm so grateful!"
Can you relate?
But what I've realized lately is that even if we have a positive perspective about our childhood...that's often just the SURFACE LEVEL.
So, that's why we are talking about this today in this very RAW episode because since diving deep into this work over the last few months there has been so much that has been coming to the surface.

Hey friend, thanks so much for being here for this episode & I just want to also say THANK YOU for 400+ downloads in the month of January! It's because of YOU why the podcast is growing :)
Today we are chatting with my friend Jake who is a chronic Lyme warrior & has been through SO much over his 16-year journey (seriously his story had my jaw drop) but he has an AMAZING PERSPECTIVE on his chronic illness & has learned to EMBRACE IT.
In this episode Jake & I chat about:
We reference the book Atomic Habits by James Clear a few times. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

About the guest, Jake:
Jake Mayers is a Transformational Coach that helps people regain control of life. Jake turned the pain of his 16-year battle with chronic Lyme Disease into his mission to help others. But first, he failed Kindergarten- yes, it’s okay to laugh. That was when he began cultivating the ability to respond to challenges in an empowering way. He learned to embrace his unique differences as opportunities, rather than obstacles. That mindset propelled him through Lyme Disease and into launching a coaching business to help people live more fulfilled lives!

In today's episode I wanted to share openly & honestly how I have built self worth + confidence in myself over the years because I don't think the journey is talked about enough.
No one wants to admit that they aren't confidence in themselves or were not confident. & I whole heartedly understand that. & Honestly this episode is very VULNERABLE for me to share but I think it's important.
As I recovered from my previous UC flare, I realized I handled things differently than 24-year-old me did, and it came down to this foundation of SELF WORTH that I have built.
I remember 23/24 year old me just wanting to feel better about herself. She just wanted to not hate herself. I know 23/24 year old me is so RELIEVED that I finally have some self worth TODAY as a 28 year old woman.

Boldly Alive is a podcast for the person who feels that quiet pull that there has to be more- not necessarily more success, more money, or more achievement, but more…
Hosted by Court, Boldly Alive is about having the courage to tell yourself the truth- and then being bold enough to do something about it.
The truth that something isn’t working anymore.
The truth that you deeply desire something more.
The truth that it’s time to have the conversation, take the leap, set the boundary, follow the breadcrumb, walk away, begin again, or finally go after the thing you can’t stop thinking about.
Here, we’ll have honest conversations about trusting the edge, following your intuition, taking bold leaps before you have the entire path figured out, creating your own version of freedom, becoming more of who you truly are, and building a life that feels deeply and uniquely yours.
And we’ll talk about the other side of being human, too - the unknown, the endings, the grief, the contractions, and the seasons that rock us to our core.
Because living boldly alive isn’t about pretending life is always beautiful.
It’s about finding the magic in the mess and trusting that even the seasons that break us are shaping who we’re becoming.
To live boldly alive is a declaration.
It’s choosing every day not to sit on the sidelines of your own life.
I'ts having the courage to tell yourself the truth, and then being BOLD enough to do something about it.
It’s saying yes to what expands you, no to what no longer aligns, and leaning into the edge, knowing there’s something for you on the other side.
I'ts finding the magic in the mess, and trusting that even the seasons that break us are shaping who were becoming.
This is Boldly Alive.
