On this BONUS EPISODE of CASCADE OF HISTORY, Feliks Banel speaks with Chase Doak, the Billings, Montana man who took some of the earliest hi-res photos of the infamous Chinese spy balloon when it appeared over "Big Sky Country" and rattled nerves in many more of the 50 United States of America in February 2023. His photos - shot with a massive zoom lens in his driveway - were spread around the world on social media and through news outlets.

On the afternoon of February 1, 2023, Chase Doak was a former journalist and photographer who was working for a local public agency in Billings, Montana. While the next few hours and days that followed didn’t exactly change his life, he was able to truly enjoy being in the right place at the right time, with the right kind of curiosity - and some handy photography skills.
