Today on Book banter with Dianne Burckhardt, Dianne is joined by the incredibly talented, Donna Edman. Donna is a professional photographer and visual storyteller working out of Fullerton, California. She shares how she started out her career in the corporate world and didn't find photography until later in life. The career she built as a photographer has brought great reviews from her clients as she helped them create more than just photo albums but legacies for generations to enjoy and cherish.  

Donna's current project has grown beyond just a book, but is now also a museum exhibit. Women of Wisdom showcases the images and wisdom of 49 women between the ages of 50 and 95. Her mission with this project was to honor the beauty and wisdom of mature, everyday women. Each woman featured shares a bit of their own personal story as well as the advice they would give their 20-year-old selves.

Today Dianne chats with historical epic fantasy author, Angela R. Hughes. Angela is based in Waco, Texas but part of her heart is firmly ensconced across the pond in the United Kingdom, Celtic Mythology, and Arthurian Legends.  It has been her ambition to write stories that grip and inspire her readers, alluring them into myth and legend. 

Angela believes in the power of storytelling and has always been inspired by mythologies and legends of the hero’s quest.  She has been particularly drawn to Arthurian legend and its ancient roots that spanned into the Cymru world.  She has studied Arthurian legend, as well as Celtic Mythology.  While living in Ireland, she fell in love with the history and landscapes of England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland.

​She tells Dianne about her fantasy series The Once and Future Chronicles which currently include; Book One: Elanor and the Song of the Bard, Book Two: Merlin and the Magic of Time,  with Book Three: Arthur and the Golden Dragon coming soon.

Diann was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but the family moved to Texas when she was about 18 months old. Diann is a wife and mother of three adult children and one grandson. Nzondi is an American horror author and is the first African-American to win a Bram Stoker award in a novel category. His novel, Oware Mosaic, won the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Young Adult fiction; the most prestigious award given to horror writers in the world.

Among his many short stories published in anthologies and print magazines, Nzondi’s short story, Raising Mary: Frankenstein, was nominated for the 2016 horror story of the year in the 19th Annual Editors and Preditors Readers Poll.

Nzondi is a former Director of Education for NYC schools and the Sylvan Learning Center, the award-winning educator earned a BFA from Long Island University.

SEO set up and maintenance can seem very intimidating to the novice, but even small improvements in the SEO for your site can bring more engagement with your desired audience.  Dianne shares a few beginning steps she has been working on to try to help  increase site engagement.

In 2015, Dianne Buckhardt started self-publishing books under the pen name Stephen Burckhardt. In today's episode, Dianne shares an update on her current works in progress. She is working on finishing up the Into the West Saga Serial under her pen name and will be doing a reading from the final book in that serial, Into the West: Family Ties.

Dianne will also share what is going on with her first book she is working on which will be published under her own name. Her first book release will be an FBI profiler thriller titled, The Touch.  Dianne will give a brief outline of this new book and do a reading from it as well.

Stephanie is a bestselling author of more than fifty popular mystery and romance novels under both her own name and pen names.
