Today Dianne finally gets her wish to chat with a cozy mystery author and she hit the jackpot with Stephanie LaVigne. Stephanie is a bestselling author of more than fifty popular mystery and romance novels under both her own name and pen names. She is known for her humor, quirky characters, adventurous situations, and captivating plots. Dianne got to read an advanced copy of her next book, Sunshine State of Crime and she can tell you, it is everything you want a cozy mystery to be!  The ebook version is available for pre-order now. 

Stephanie is quite an adventurous person. She helped crew a sailboat on a trans-Atlantic crossing, she managed to "awkwardly" mush a dogsled over the snow, and somehow managed to hiking Mount Washington without actually meaning to do it. Stephanie has been blessed with all kinds of real-life adventures to help inspire the fictional ones she writes.

Stephanie lives in South Florida surrounded by palm trees, peacocks, a few wild kids, one wild husband, and a tribe of loved ones. The women talked so long, Dianne ended up splitting the interview up into two shows. Today Dianne chats with author, academic, podcaster, and theater savant, Kelly Florence. Kelly teaches communication at Lake Superior College in Minnesota and hosts the Be a Better Communicator podcast. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in theatre and a master's degree in communication. She is active in theater and has worked on productions including Carrie The Musical  and Treasure Island. 

Kelly, along with her writing partner Meg Hafdahl, has co-authored five of the eighteen books currently in publication in The Science of Series .  The pair will be publishing a  sixth book, The Science of Agatha Christie, very soon. They also co-host the Horror Rewind podcast which was called "the best horror podcast out there" by Film Daddy.

In today's episode, Dianne chats with Dr. David J Gibson. Gibson is a professor of botany at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He holds a PhD in Plant Biology and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB).

Dr. Gibson has years of field research in botany and has written a number of books mostly focusing grasslands and ecology. However, his most recent work focuses on the forensic study of plants as a means to murder and an aid in investigations in fiction and actual criminal cases.

Dianne talks with him about his new book, Planting Clues: How Plants Solve Crimes, which is available now at booksellers.  He is an incredible wealth of knowledge about forensic botany and where to find a decent pint in Illinois.

In today's episode, Dianne chats with her good friend, Lance Steen Anthony Nielsen. Dianne always looks forward to chatting with Lance for several reasons. Besides the fact that he is multi-talented, working as an author, a playwright, an acting coach, and a director, but Lance knows how to make her laugh too.

Lance was born in South Africa and adopted at a young age by an English mother and Danish father. Raised in Kingston-upon-Thames in the United Kingdom, it was here, according to his website, "... he spent much of his time engaged in designing fictional worlds for role-playing games, rolling dice, renting videos, going to the cinema and forgetting to tell his mother what time he would be home when he went out." While under the influence of JRR Tolkien, he made his first attempts at writing a book series, The Prophecy of the Witch-King.  Since then, Lance has written many amazing works for stage, screen, and print. He chats about them all with Dianne in episodes 56 & 57, be sure to catch them both.
