Book Club from Hell

My Miserable Life as an Asian Boy Growing up in America: Humiliation, Forced Feminization, Forced Homosexuality, Castration, Brainwashing, Slavery, Solitary Confinement, Despair (2018) is the (completely factually true) story of author Ling Anderson's life. As an Asian male, Ling explains, his role is to serve white cock as a brainwashed sissy sex slave; this book is an explanation as to how Ling reached such conclusions. While he references - among other things - race science, Schopenhauer, the perfidy of Asian women, mathematics, apologia for the Rape of Nanjing, his.personal experiences being sexually abused by a succession of white stepfathers, each taller, more physically dominant, more fictitious, more enamoured of elaborate racial slurs than the last, I suspect that the true motivation behind his auto-castrating life philosophy is much simpler. He watched a great deal of race humiliation porn, perhaps too much.

Rhymes (2026) is another Tom Will poetry collection from Tom Will, in which he invents the technique of rhyming. It contains plenty of roundels, a form created by Algernon Charles Swinburne, as well as triolets, rondels, villanelles, sonnets, englyns, several original translations of French poetry into English, and no limericks. Being a Tom Will collection, there are cats, moons, townies, and some very advanced Spoonerisms.
In this episode, Tom gave us several (long!) descriptions of various poetic forms and their histories, before his phone stopped recording and the last 40 minutes of our conversation were lost. I apologise for this (we lost the parts where he described his approach to translation). Tears in the rain.

Important announcement! Today we say farewell to Levi (BCFH in peace), and welcome new cohost Capitalisimo, who has previously appeared on this show for the Cyclomancy and An Amazing Journey into the Psychotic Mind episodes!

Alexander Bogdanov (born Malinovsky) was one of the original members of the Bolshevik Party, eventual opponent of Vladimir Lenin, and active participant in the 1905 Revolution. A very narrow thinker with limited interests, he studied and wrote on Marxist Revolution, blood transfusions, came up with a precursor to systems theory which he called 'tectology', proletarian art, and, most importantly for this episode, published works of science fiction. The Red Star, first published in 1908, is the story of Leonid, a Russian revolutionary, who gets taken to Mars by aliens, witnesses the staggering level of historical development which they have achieved on Mars, and subsequently goes insane and murders someone. Earthlings, it turns out, simply can't be trusted.

Helping out for this episode is Parker Longbaugh, a pulp author and (now) expert on Martian Marxism.

Miguel Serrano was a Chilean diplomat who really, really liked Hitler. So much so, in fact, that he spent much of his life communing with Hitler's astral body, promoting Esoteric Hitlerism at home and abroad, travelling the world to find the esoteric hiding places of the Nazis (including Antarctica and the Andes), performing Aryan initiation rituals with Savitri Devi in the Externsteine, vibrating out of time and space in the abandoned SS Castle Wewelsburg shortly after WWII, discussing the true nature of Hitler with Carl Jung, representing Chile at the International Atomic Energy Agency and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, and a whole lot more.

He wrote very many books, but Adolf Hitler, the Last Avatar (1984) is one of his most comprehensive, weighing in at over 600 pages in the original Spanish. It is probably the most autistic book I've read in my entire life. In it, he fuses Hitler with gnosticism, Hinduism, every European myth he could get his hands on, Nordic runes, Kundalini yoga, woo-woo crystal lady astral projection, occultism, Minnesanger grail epics, and basically anything else you can imagine.

Joining me to read this monster is the bravest guest ever to come on the Book Club from Hell: Hillbilly Viking, aka Jonny Unosson. He's written a children's book, which follows the three billy goats gruff, but from the perspective of the trolls. William Blake was a poet, artist, and spiritual Yagi antenna, who lived in 18th- and 19th-century England. The Marriage of Heaven and Hell (probably written around 1790) is a collection of pictures, poems, aphorisms, and strange prose pieces, all describing Blake's particular religious (that is to say, not Religious) worldview. Joining me is Western Australia's foremost chronicler of men getting women pregnant in prose and poetry, Liam Blackford.

I was pretty sick during the recording of this episode, so in the video you can watch the paracetamol, caffeine and phenylephrine slowly wear off, and the light fade from my eyes.

Carbon Pages is Daniel Gavilovsky’s new collection of plays. The centrepiece of this book is No Weapon Formed Against You, a semi-historical, semi-speculative impossible-to-stage play about the formation of the National Bolshevik Party by Alexander Dugin, Igor Letov and Eduard Limonov, and all narrated by a forgotten ancient demon. Somehow, Daniel managed to deliver on such a potent concept.

In this episode, we talk about National Bolshevism (for the uninitiated, it’s a witch’s brew of Bolshevism and Nazism), destiny, when to ignore history in writing historical fiction, why I have read so much ‘retarded fascism’ (Daniel’s words), and a whole lot more.

The Stud is an unpublished manuscript by Perth-dwelling life form Liam Blackford. It is set in a near-future, hypernatal Western Australia, and follows the lives of four stylish, elite women and one man in a 'stud house'. That is to say, the man, Luke, is employed by the four women to get them all pregnant as frequently as he can, as well as treating each of them as his queen.

A very funny social satire of surprising emotional complexity, I really enjoyed The Stud and look forward to its future publication; publishers, you might want to get in contact with Liam and ask for a copy of this manuscript. Fear not. While Liam insists repeatedly that this book is irredeemably misogynistic, I'm not so sure.

David Moulton wrote an article called 'Towards a Gay Art of Suffering', which was published in Verdurin's collection 'Inversion: Gay Life After the Homosexual'. In it, he uses the framing of Ivan Illich's concept of suffering, and the works of Péter Nádas, Gean Genet, and more, to talk about all sorts of uncontroversial topics. These topics include the 'state religion' of LGBTQ+, revisionist AIDS history, the domestication of gay men by gay marriage, COVID-19, LGB without the T, and so on. Limits to Medicine (1975) describes how and why industrialised medicine contributes to an 'iatrogenic society', in which all political grievances are converted into demands for more industrial commodities.
