The sisters journey back to the voice-to-text queen of thrillers, Freida McFadden (said with the utmost respect)

The book oscillates between some time in the past that feels like the 50s and present day.

The past section follows four teenage students - Daisy, Tom, Allison, & Slug. It is clear Tom is a psychopath in training who is only outweirded by his brofriend Slug. Per the text, Tom wants to be Daisy's boyfriend <3 Per the subtext, Allison also wants to be Daisy's girlfriend <3

The present day section follows three girlfriends, Sex and the City Style - Bonnie (Sex positive Sammantha), Gretchen (tradwife Charlotte), and Sydney (our self-absorbed Carrie Bradshaw). You may ask WHERE'S Miranda? She is stuck in the past as the closeted Allison.

Unfortunately for our story, the story quickly turns Death and the City as our Bonnie/Sammantha gets cut to ribbons in her NY apartment.

Who is the murderer? Join in as we weigh all the options

Before the sisters can close the book on The Silent Patient, they attempt to do a quick 15 minute chat on the morality of novel. As usual, this takes 40 minutes to cover

Aussie Correspondent asks the important question on Theo's character arc - Theo appeared to be a rehabilitated person from abuse. However, by the end of the book we find that he is unable to escape his past and becomes an abuser himself. Discussion? Are abused people destined to become abusers themselves.

The sisters wonder what drove Gabe to cheat on Alicia - did he feel trapped into a caretaker role he didn’t want? Was he after Alicia’s money? Or was he an insecure man who was jealous of Alicia’s artistic ability? 

After Theo’s crazy is revealed, Chrissy is ready to throw him in the slammer while Candice still has hope for her psycho protagonist.

While Part 2 left the sisters thinking Reese Witherspoon’s debut novel would land between a 4 & a 5, the final third of the book goes off the rails into pure chaos resulting in a 3.2 star rating. 

Where things went wrong:

• Nadia’s tattoo was FAKE! Turns out Nadia employed Maggie to, ‘mess with her mind’

• Oleg is stabbed in the middle of a mosh pit and his body is crowd-surfed away

• Maggie turns into single-white-female and attempts to call the Dubai Police while operating as an undercover US CIA spy. 

• Despite all of the evidence pointing to the contrary, Nadia believes Maggie killed Marc & Trace! 

• Nadia logs into Longevity labs using missing Trace’s year old credentials, immediately triggering the alarms

• EVERYTHING WITH PORKCHOP was b-a-n-a-n-a-s

• WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MONA LISA? WHY DID WE SPEND 10 PAGES READING ABOUT IT
