Um, wow. What a... dark and depressing short story. Why in the (apparently dark and depressing) world did Poe want to write about an insane man in intense physical and psychological pain? Cooper and Matthew wrestle with this question throughout the course of the episode. Did they answer this dark and depressing question? You'll really have to listen to find out.

After an embarrassing performance of plot guessing last week, Matthew at last had things revealed to him he did not previously know.
