Have events in the news have driven us out of the holiday spirit? Omicron, Inflation, and Washington politics, in particular, are destroying our happy holidays. We also try and figure out why all these wild animals are invading where we live and work, as well as taking a critical look at how gutless the EU really is. In keeping with the holiday season, we take a look at a 50-year mystery of kindness over in Japan. We go to Australia to see how one young man decided to earn money and what has come of that effort. Color of the Year, Pantone is not alone in choosing this trendsetting color. Paraguay orders all civil servants to wear certain clothes on Fridays, and we end with a seagull patrol down at the Sydney Opera House. We also take a look at the Rastafarian religion and how it celebrates a most important day in its religion; as well as a 90-year old farmer who has a new profession! In Berlin, a Russian has just been convicted of a contract killing and guess who might be behind this??? Finally, we look at 2 stories from the US, the first about the sad state of the Ocean Liner, The Queen Mary, that sits in Long Beach Harbor, and then off to Maine for Squirrelzilla! There is lots to discuss today and it all begins with Hilary Clinton. Will this woman please go away and leave us alone! She remains way too active on the talk and lecture circuit and it has gotten to be too much for me. From there we talk about the Amazon Cloud breakdown and whether that makes you feel ancient (apparently if you feed your pets without an internet device you are ancient!). I get upset with the imprisonment of a former Danish Immigration Minister and the hypocrisy of the EU with their Rule of Law. We look at WW2 Allies and enemies and come to realize how those designations have changed in the past 70 years. We analyze the vote in New Caledonia and its effect on global politics. I also discuss the Olympic Boycott this coming February and China’s threats to those countries who have diplomatic boycotts. What has happened to Christmas once again? Between supply chain issues, inflation, and the Omicron variant we are being bombarded by bad news day after day with no end in sight. It is up to us to make this Holiday fun because it is not coming from the news. And speaking of news, where do you get your news. There is bias on both sides of the media and we have to try and find some common ground because the media and our politicians are unable to do so. We look at the first decision of the 21-22 Supreme Court, a 9-0 decision in the case of Mississippi vs. Tennessee, and come to understand that the judges are not always as divided as the national media wants us to believe. And we end up taking a look at Russia, China, and what they are doing to destabilize Eastern Europe and Asia. Come back next Monday for more Views on the News.
