Action Items

1. Knowing that there can be a difference between what is true and what is the truth, examine an area in your life you’re struggling with right now. Ask yourself, and write it down, what is true, and what is the truth.
2. Now that we better understand that the obvious greater value is the calculation that goes into how much financial compensation we receive, what area do you want to be known in being obviously, much better at creating value than others.
3. If you don’t have an answer to the above, I challenge you to do a time audit. Look at how you spend your time, write it down hour by hour, and total up how much time is being wasted.  Then, take that time you’re spending either watching TV or reading the news and use it to develop a skillset that will get you towards your goals.

Action Items

1. What is your number one priority in life?  Is it like Andy and is your family, or is it ambition, corporate success, or making more money. There is no right or wrong answer here, the point is for you to clearly outline what it is.  Then, look at your daily schedule and ask yourself if your actions line up with your words.
2. What is your personal mission statement.  A way to think about this is to think about your priority, how you want to live your life and be remembered and form that into a sentence.
3. Andy’s secret benchmark has 8 different questions before he’ll work with someone.  I encourage you to create your own secret benchmark and use that as a qualifier as to whether you are willing to invest your time and energy into someone.  When I actively did financial coaching I learned the following lesson the hard way: if you want something for someone more than the other person wants it, it’s not going to go well.
4. It’s time to set up a location of contemplation.  If you struggle with this at first, it’s absolutely ok.  The key is consistency.

Action Items:

1. I’m going to read a section from chapter 8 again: everything that had been so obvious, was no longer even true.  Think about it, airbnb, the largest hotel company doesn’t own a single hotel. Uber, the largest taxi service, doesn’t own its own cars.  Both of these companies completely disrupted the way things are done.  So the question is this: what is it that you need a breakthrough in?  Think out of the box, use your imagination, and ask yourself why the rules are the way they are.  After enough contemplation and thinking, you’ll be able to start journaling what you believe, why you believe it, why it’s not necessarily true, and ways to disrupt what it is that everyone else believes is undeniably true.
2. Write this statement down, and put it somewhere you’ll see before you go to bed.  If you’re constantly traveling, putting a reminder on your phone an hour before you go to bed is also a great option.  The note is this: I could have made today even better if….   Sometimes the answers will come to you immediately.  Other days it’ll require a lot more thinking.  However, if you keep this practice then you’ll start to think more creatively about living better days.

Action Items

1.  Write down a list of things you were raised to believe were 100%, completely and totally true. An example for someone in the 1400s would be that they were completely convinced the earth is flat.  After you’ve written your list down, think through each item and ask yourself why you believe that, if it’s possible there is a deeper level of understanding to it, or quite possibly, maybe it’s not true at all.
2. What is one area that you’ve succeeded at?  Write down what it is that you learned through that, and how it better prepared you for the future. Now, write down an area you’ve failed before.  In the same way, write down the learning moments from that failure. 
3. Are you completely miserable in life?  How would you rate ability to just laugh and roll with the punches?  If you feel pretty low, then thankfully you can make a conscious decision to move forward.  Knowing that the quickest way to do this is through gratitude, set a timer for every hour of the day at first and when it goes off, think about 5 things you are grateful for in life.  As you become more grateful, you won’t need a timer and will stay in gratitude throughout the day, allowing for an overall happier and more enjoyable state.

Action Items

1. What do you want to see a radical shift in?  For this item, take out a pen and paper and write it at the top.  Then, underneath this write down everything you think you know about the rules governing it.
2. Ask yourself why you believe these rules.  Who was it that encouraged those thoughts or what moments of childhood implanted that belief?  Now, come up with reasons why those beliefs may be incorrect.
3. Try to brainstorm ways that you can achieve that radical shift without adhering to the common rules everyone at the surface is following. Remember: the voices are loudest at the surface, and those men and women are quick to tell you why things can and cannot be done.  They are well intentioned, but to think like this will only ever get you good or great.

2. Use your developed talents to help someone who needs it. This is where most people fail because they’re only thinking short term.  What is it that others want that will help solve their needs, wants, and struggles.
3. Turn that need into a career choice that you want. 
4. Use that income to wipe out your debt and be financially free
5. Use that financial freedom to gain time freedom
6. Use time freedom to help build a stronger family and deeper relationships
7. Put it all together and live the life of your dreams with a legacy you can be proud of

1. If you’ve been through a mess, that makes you a messenger.  What is it that you’ve struggled through and overcame that you can help other people out in?
2. It’s time to not be shy and actually think about how much your services are worth.  If it’s higher than you currently charge, then come up with a golden day where if you get work that day, it’s only for that amount.  As your confidence builds, increase the amount of days you charge that.
3. It is important to know common pitfalls so that you can identify them and avoid them when they present themselves.  Knowing that two very large ones are needing to buy a brand new car on financing and buying a bigger and bigger house, what will you do to protect yourself if those urges come up?

Action Items:

1. The hour of giving is something that has radically transformed Vincent’s life.  It doesn’t have to be an hour, but how many minutes a day can you devote to lifting other people up, writing reviews for their products, shooting encouraging texts, or better yet, handwritten letters?  This is something we all know would be beneficial, but very few people do.
2. If you’re comfortable with the idea of meditation, find a quiet place that you can spend a few minutes each morning in and focus on your breath. If this is not something you’re comfortable with, try box breathing like the Navy SEALs. You do this by inhaling for 3 seconds, holding your breath for 3 seconds, exhaling for 3 seconds, and then holding your breath again for another 3 seconds.  You repeat this a few times until you feel the fight or flight response go away.
3. Do you have a “what’s for dinner” mindset or a “what can I do to help” mindset? If it’s a what’s for dinner mindset, the important thing is that you’re aware of it, and can now implement the time of giving from action item 1 and start helping other people out.  As the old saying goes, if you help enough people achieve their goals, your goals will also be achieved.

Action Items

1. Patience and persistence together are the combination for success. With what you’re going through in life, what is it you need to be either more patient, persistent, or both in order to achieve what you’re going after?
2. Do an audit of your day.  If you think you don’t have any time, how many hours are spent with either the TV on or scrolling through your phone.  I challenge you to have a drawer where you put your phone so that you’re not constantly looking at it throughout the day. Put an envelope or piece of paper above it, and write down every time you go to look at it. You may find the results at the end of the day to be staggering. 
3. Do you actually believe that you have the power to change things in your life?  If not, think about the things you do have control over.  If so, are you taking actions in life that will give you experiences you’re going to be proud about one day?

1. What does success mean to you?  If you were on your death bed and thought to yourself that you truly had a successful life, what exactly would that look like?  Why do you count those things to be successful?
2. What do you love doing? What makes you feel alive inside?  Write those down.  Then, decide on what it is you don’t want to do.  From these two lists, you’ll be able to narrow down ideas for a business for you to start up and try to make profitable while you’re still working your day job.
