In October of 1819, the two Boorn brothers, 27-year-old Jesse and 31-year-old Stephen, stood trial for the murder of their brother-in-law, Russell Colvin. The only problem for the prosecution: Colvin’s body had never been found and there was no evidence of foul-play.
