In week 2 of our Born to be Wild Podcast, we hear from Melissa Hickey, Australian Rules Football all star who grew up in the country town of Mildura. Now captaining the Geelong AFLW team and continuing to grow as both a leader and as a player on and off the field.

Mel talks with CEO & Founder Sarah Wall, about the opportunities that put her out of her comfort zone and how being uncomfortable inevitably isn't as hard the second time around and that the more opportunities you can put yourself into that make you uncomfortable, the less things in the world the are uncomfortable to you.

Growth mindset is a pivotal part of Mel's career. Something she absolutely lives by is 'the power of YET'. Mel's best piece of advice she's been given is finding what will get her out of bed everyday, and what will make footy fun. She hopes she can leave a legacy to young footballers by empowering them to be their best and to remind everyone fitness is important for the athlete but as well the mental health.
