Too many things to be bothered by this week, but I wanted to make sure I covered this early on. This was utterly disgusting and shameful behaviour on the part of the Proud Boys, but it is sadly not surprising. Furthermore, the lack of national attention paid to this and lack of outcry from the evangelical right is extremely telling.

A new report has proven that the blame for the Democratic Iowa caucus debacle from earlier in the nomination process rests squarely at the feet of the DNC. It's not surprising but still disappointing. I'll provide the Politico link below, but my god does the DNC need to be stopped. They keep ruining their own party and their supporters should fight back against it.

I'm seeing lots of people on the internet revel in Milo Yiannopoulos' meltdown, and the crowds at rallies chanting "destroy the GOP" or something along those lines. I understand this, but let's take a step back here and think about what this means for the potential shake-up of the established political order, and the radicalization of the right.

So in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling against Texas' attempt to overturn the election results, people on Parler (including Milo Yiannopoulos) were more than a little upset. Many started openly calling for the murder of the new Supreme Court justices who they assumed should have shown loyalty to Trump, and others suggested that they needed "10,000 Timothy McVeighs" to show the rest of America they're serious. This is dangerous, but no one's talking about it...

Not unexpected for many of us, but still disappointing. Biden is basically telling civil rights leaders and progressives to shut up, all while sounding very Trumpian and insisting on failed Democrat strategies.

It is absolutely important to shop local when and where possible in these difficult times, but just saying "shop local" ignores the reality for many people who can't do that for a variety of reasons. If we want people to shop locally, we need to provide both consumers and small businesses with the tools and support they need beyond a snappy and positive slogan.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford and his government have seen fit to end the eviction moratorium in the province, even though we're still in the midst of the second wave of the pandemic, winter is upon us, and it's the Christmas season on top of it all. This is horrifying and bad for a variety of reasons.

I'm only just finding out about this now but apparently on December 4th, Casey Goodson Jr., a 23-year-old black man was murdered by US Marshals. According to his mother, police shot him in the back three times through the door as he was returning from a dentist's appointment with a subway sandwich and with his mask and keys in hand. And of course Casey wasn't the fugitive Marshals were looking for. #justiceforcaseygoodson #BLM #BlackLivesMatter #DefundThePolice

I know Kelly Loeffler is in the news from Georgia because of her wild and shameless debate last night, but I want to talk about Trump and his wild and shameless Georgia rally. Basically, we're gonna talk about Georgia and where scorned Trump supporters will turn their energy - and votes - in the near future and the distant future.

Today is the grim anniversary of the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, where Marc Lépine used a gun and a hunting knife to kill 15 women before ultimately turning the gun on himself. According to his suicide later and overheard statements during the massacre, he was "fighting against feminism."   This offers a lesson for those who claim that feminism is no longer needed, even though similar massacres targeting women have continued to this day, such as the Toronto van attack and Elliot Rodger's Isla Vista killings.
