Every so often and every year, conservatives, nationalists, and fascists will trot out the whole "we need to return to our roots" or some variation thereof as they whinge and complain about the changing of the country. Newsflash, every decade or so this country has changed ever since the first white men landed on its shores. "Traditional Canada" has never been a thing and it's high time we recognize that.

So here in Canada, one of the rights guaranteed by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is freedom of movement. Unfortunately, real estate prices and speculation are having a negative impact on Canadians from coast to coast which means that there may be potential for making a constitutional argument for accessible freedom of movement...

So Conservative leader Erin O'Toole is in a bit of hot water over statements he made in a Zoom call about Residential Schools and their history in Canada. Even worse, it was in a call about "how to defeat the left on this issue" and yet their big 'winning point' is a falsehood. And if you don't believe me, just use the words of the chief architect of the Residential School system himself...
