I want to stress that I take issue with the gun culture, not with guns or with the second amendment. Plenty of nations around the world have a gun culture, but America's is truly exceptional, and not for good reasons...

While the Vice Presidential debate between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris was not a shit show like the presidential one, it was still terrible in other ways...

In the House of Commons, NDP MP Don Davies asked the Minister of Health if a vaccine would be free for Canadians. And she couldn't provide a clear answer. I am so done with Liberal spinelessness.

There are lots of Second Amendment fanboys who will insist that the right to bear arms protects people from tyranny,  and will often say something like "the Holocaust wouldn't have happened if the Jews had armed themselves!" They say this, while many of them happily work with and support authoritarian and fascist forces in the USA. There's a lot of historical ignorance here, and I'm tired of it.

Today is National Teachers' Day, so what better time to talk about their mistreatment, shouldering of an incredible burden, titanic expectations, lack of funding, lack of adequate support, frustrations, safety, health and wellness, workload, exasperation, and more?

Pope Francis is in the news for condemning capitalism, and people on both sides of the political spectrum are reacting exactly as I expected. This is expected, but no less disappointing. It's nice of the pope to say, but what is his actually action plan to address this? Are he and the Catholic Church about to embark on a bold worldwide campaign against capitalism? Or are these just more words and platitudes meant to make people feel good for a bit?

So at the nomination for the new ultra-conservative SC justice, there was a woman named Hope Hicks who is the progenitor of what is now known as the Rose Garden super spreader event. Lots of people caught COVID-19 at this event now being styled as the "Rose Garden Massacre," including President Trump. They weren't wearing masks or social distancing, and they likely won't after this. That's what's bothering me today.

Because of course Joyce Echaquan had to hear it on her deathbed... The myth of natives "living off our tax dollars" is a myth that needs to die. It is fundamentally untrue (along with the "free money" myth) and I'm here to explain why.

I'm not just bothered, I'm mad. I'm so tired of the racism and vitriol directed at natives. Joyce Echaquan should be alive right now, but systemic racism killed her. Also, while one of the nurses was fired, all involved should not only be fired but criminally charged as well.
