  • Bouncing Back With April Soetarman: Experiential Designer/ACD

On Episode 122 of Bouncing Back, I interviewed April Soetarman who was most recently an Experiential Designer/ACD at Campfire. This is also my 80th episode in partnership with The Avail List.

April is a total rockstar whose interview blew me away. She is an artist, designer, teacher, and writer who has a background in architecture, immersive installations, narrative design, and public art.

She loves challenging herself to solve difficult problems, is always learning, works across multiple mediums, and in addition to being a strong conceptual thinker, she also has the hard skills to create with her adobe, 3D, coding & illustration skills.

Outside of her advertising work she started WeirdSideProjects.com where she got famous for guerrilla street art, creating physical street signs with unique quotes, and making Twitter bots. These exhibits/installations were created by April to share certain feelings with the world.

If you’re interested in someone who will make an immediate impact, you should reach out to April ASAP. aprilsoetarman.com

  • Bouncing Back With Bernie O'Dowd: Creative Director/Art Director

On Episode 121 of Bouncing Back, I interviewed Bernie O'Dowd who was most recently a freelance Creative Director/Art Director at Innocean. This is also my 79th episode in partnership with The Avail List.

Bernie is a “professional creative person” who excels in art direction, illustration, and skateboarding. He likes chasing opportunities over money, prides himself on his ability to write, and likes the idea of being able to mentor young creatives.

He is a strong believer that insights should play a large role in the work, and while he “loves focusing on the visuals, it’s the ideas that drive him, because the art part is wasted if there isn’t a worthy, working concept to build on.”

Outside of his advertising work, Bernie runs an Instagram account called @Sk8boardingsaves with 51k followers that he uses as a daily love letter to skaters.

Reach out to Bernie if you’re looking for someone who is passionate about advertising and excited to create great work. You won’t regret it. bernieodowdcreative.com
