On episode 102 of Bouncing Back, I interviewed Justin Feinstein who was most recently a Freelance Creative Director/Copywriter at a biotech company. This is also my 60th episode in partnership with The Avail List.

Thankfully Justin has recently found a full-time role, but I’m still going to tell you all how amazing he is just to make you a bit jealous that you weren’t the one to reach out and hire him.

As one of the only professional Conga players turned copywriters, Justin loves diving into research and strategy while concepting creative ideas. His focus is always on the quality of the work, and he’s pretty unphased by the chaotic nature of our industry.

He leads by example and has experience in start-ups, experiential, social, long-form, and branded content.

Blair’s advertising career started at The Creative Circus where he was focused on becoming a writer before taking some wise advice from a professor to become a designer.

While he has tons of experience working in different mediums, his true passion is creating experiential events because he gets to bring stories to life and watch as people interact with his work.

11 months ago I started Bouncing Back, a podcast/video series meant to give people who lost their job during COVID19 a voice. I never thought I’d get anywhere close to 100 episodes, let alone 32.5 hours (1,954 minutes) worth of content that’s gotten roughly 108,000 views and 61 people hired.

For this episode, instead of doing a regular interview, I decided to do a recap where I highlight everyone I’ve had on in my previous 99 episodes.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible. From my amazing partner in The Avail List to The Side Show awards, Tim Nudd, and Adweek who have all shared stories on this initiative.

On Episode 99 of Bouncing Back, I interviewed Ronak Patel who is a Jr Designer that has been freelancing since graduating from Miami Ad School. This is also my 58th episode in partnership with The Avail List

While looking for a full-time job, Ronak has been helping start-ups with branding and designing wedding stationery.

He has always admired the creative process which is what ultimately got him to pivot from finance to design. He uses his analytical thinking to help concept, is a big believer in collaboration, likes bringing empathy into his work, and doesn’t let hurdles slow him down.

He never thinks of design as 2D and has also won a gold Graphis for new talent for his unique chair design.

On Episode 98 of Bouncing Back, I interviewed Erich Pfeifer who was most recently a Creative Director/Art Director at Venables Bell & Partners. This is also my 57th episode in partnership with The Avail List.

Erich wasn’t laid off, but after over 14 years at Venables he decided to leave for a dream job in March (bad timing, right?) which was later canceled bc of COVID.

Thankfully Erich has been able to scratch his creative itch with different freelance jobs where he has been able to flex his love for graphic design and attention to craft.

He's an industry pro who lead an in-house retail agency for Audi on behalf of Venables, believes that trust with a client creates better work, wants to get his hands dirty on projects, and is ready to work with brands that have a clear perspective and want to be relevant in the world.

Kaiqi recently graduated from Miami Ad School and is now looking for an agency where she can develop and grow. She loves collaborating, working with nice people, and wants to work at an agency that has an appetite for producing tough ideas.

Even as a creative, Kaiqi takes a strategic approach to her ideas. She loves going to museums, traveling, and learning about different cultures. She is also a big Pinterest use where she finds inspiration for her work.

On Episode 95 of Bouncing Back, I interviewed Caleb York who was most recently a Jr Copywriter at Bandujo Advertising.

Caleb started as a history major, but credits writing for his school's satirical newspaper as one of the reasons he ultimately went down the path of becoming a copywriter.

After graduating from VCU Brand Center he was able to get his first advertising job where he learned the importance of writing for different platforms. Caleb now prides himself on being able to write in multiple formats and tones so that he can write for multiple clients.

He’s a hard worker, looks at campaigns that he doesn’t like to help him find new ideas, and believes that in order to tell the best stories, one needs to take risks.

Raule is always up to something. Whether that’s reading about the latest trends, designing clothes, or writing a book, he is always keeping busy and tinkering with side projects.

He’s obsessed with fantasy, watches hours of YouTube videos to learn new skills, and loves to think like an entrepreneur. Raule creates work that he himself would gravitate towards in the real world and doesn’t begin designing until he does in-field research.
