UTAH EASES THE LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN PROFESSIONALS Did you know that the State of Utah has made it easier for foreign professionals to get licensed and get to work in the United States? Utah State Law SB35 permits 9 state departments to issue licenses to foreign professionals who can prove that they have the requisite skills and experience to perform the jobs in Utah. And for professions with license portability between states, the law even opens a door to professionals living outside of Utah. To qualify, foreign applicants must show that they are lawfully present in the United States and carry an equivalent foreign license in one of the long list of eligible professions. So the new law is welcome news for many internationally trained professionals, but please note: A professional license is not the same as a work permit.
