Brigham City police are investigating a fatal hitand run that claimed the life of a 65-year-old woman Monday night. Police Chief Reyes said officers were dispatched at 7:50 p.m. Sept. 29 to a report of a “person down” at the intersection of 850 South and 425 East. They arrived three minutes later and found the woman in the roadway with serious injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Utah lawmakers will meet Oct. 6 in a special session to adopt new congressional boundaries after a district court struck down the state’s 2021 map and the Utah Supreme Court refused to halt that decision. Alan Dale Jeppesen, 63, has been convicted of four first-degree felony sex crimes and will be sentenced Sept. 29 in Box Elder County’s First District Court. A Perry man who pled guilty to methamphetamine and fentanyl charges earlier this year and was accepted into drug court is facing new felony prosecutions for allegedly smuggling and distributing fentanyl while incarcerated at the Box Elder County Jail.
