Did you know that in the past 6 years, 33 states (including California) have passed laws to silence boycotts against Israel on its human rights record? This blatant attack on our freedom of speech has happened with very little coverage or knowledge on the part of the average constituent, which is what makes this documentary so very important. Boycott follows the stories of three court cases of individuals across the country who are putting their livelihoods on the line to protect our freedom of speech and expose the political ties behind these anti-boycott laws (spoiler alert: it's the fundamentalist right-wing). We sat down with the wonderful and intelligent producer Suhad Babaa to discuss how they found which court cases to highlight, how and why the meaning of "patriot" has shifted, and what we can do to fight back.
