  • 94: Snapchat Killed the YouTube Star

Today founder and Creative Director of Fifty 2 Creative and the Brand Boost Podcast, Vincenzo Landino talks to the amazingly talented, Amy Schmittauer.

This weeks' guest host is Amy Schmittauer, aka Savvy Sexy Social and we'll talk about how Snapchat is killing the YouTube star!

    What is Savvy Sexy Social?

The mission of Savvy Sexy Social is to empower brands to embrace their amazing personality and share it with the world. By sharing desired content of your target market and becoming the go-to resource for customer, you’ll discover how to build brand advocacy and engaging relationships introduced and nurtured by social media in turn building your business.

I’ve always loved the process of finding the perfect name for my creations (and pets). But I just got plain lucky with this one. When I wanted to create a resource that helps brands design a plan to effectively and relatably reach an activated and loyal audience, the words ‘savvy’, ‘sexy’, and ‘social’ truly described everything I knew I wanted to share.

SAVVY — Understanding the purpose, context and optimal techniques of building brand awareness no matter if the tools are online or off.

SEXY — Learning how to appeal to your audience online in a way that connects you to real people and makes happen or fits into relatable conversations.

SOCIAL — Discovering amazing opportunities at your disposal that you have to connect with people by finding where they’re hanging out and how to best work your brand name into the conversation.

All in all, this is a place where you can learn executable steps to discover your brand’s personality and market it across platforms in a fashion that works with the current trends of inviting conversations and telling stories.

  • 91: How Facebook Canvas is Defeating the Website
Facebook Canvas ads, when clicked, expand to full-screen size, giving users an immersive branded experience. They’re effectively mini-websites built within Facebook - with the advantage for Facebook being that people don’t have to leave their platform to view the content. Within a Canvas ad, users can “swipe through a carousel of images, tilt to view panoramic images and zoom in to view images in detail, making the Canvas experience immersive and engaging in a way that mobile sites aren’t”. HOW DO CREATE YOUR OWN CANVAS ADS?

In Facebook’s official announcement, they note that:

“The tool is available to advertisers in both Power Editor and the Publishing Tools tab on their Page.”

To get access, you can fill in this form. Once the tool becomes available to you, you’ll be able to start building your Canvas through either your Page (under the Publishing Tools menu) or through Power Editor. Facebook has a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to create Canvas ads available in their Help section including details on how to add each Canvas element and build your Canvas experience.

  • 90: Savvy Apple Predictions with Forbes 30 Under 30, Savannah Peterson
Savannah Peterson, a Forbes 30 Under 30 in Consumer Tech, joins Vincenzo on the podcast to talk about Apple predictions on what is to come during the spring release and what we should expect to see from the Cupertino giant.   Savannah encourages you to say hi on twitter @SavIsSavvy Check out her YouTube channel here Or connect with her on Facebook here It's gonna happen: New 4-inch iPhone

The main product unveiling expected at Apple's March 21 event is a new 4-inch iPhone that will replace the current iPhone 5s. It's believed that the handset will boast many of the same internal components as the iPhone 6s, including a 12-megapixel camera, A9 processor, and support for Apple Pay.

If the iPhone 5s is discontinued, Apple's entire iPhone product lineup would then feature Apple Pay for the first time ever.

Leaked schematics suggest the new iPhone model will feature an aesthetic similar to the current iPhone 6s series, such as curved edges and a slightly protruding camera, but smaller in size. The rumored name of the product is "iPhone SE."

With the iPhone 5s currently priced at $449 off contract, expect that Apple's new 4-inch model will launch in largely the same price range. It's likely to launch just a matter of days after the keynote.

    Highly Likely: New 9.7-inch iPad

Whether it's branded as an iPad Air or iPad Pro, Apple is also expected to introduce a new 9.7-inch iPad that will serve as the successor to the iPad Air 2, which first launched in 2014.

The new model is expected to feature many of the same capabilities of the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro, including the Smart Connector magnetic port for keyboard accessories, as well as a four-speaker array and possibly the beefed-up A9X processor.
