Now you're ready to build your brand and begin to market. The limited advice on branding before jumping into marketing is more like jumping off a cliff. You don't know how to market your brand. There is no brand strategy and there's no marketing strategy. Hence the poor sales and relying on free or low cost advice to get you to that first million.

In this episode I'm talking about the unhealthy brand ego that makes you people please. An unhealthy ego brand can cause you to do things you don't wanna do and work with people you can't stand. Unhealthy branding is one thing. Unhealthy ego branding is another. If you unpack Brand Identity you are essentially talking about the ego of a brand. It's how the brand chooses to identify itself. If you're the owner of the business, then you are the Brand Leader and the business brand is taking it's cues from you and your ego. Unhealthy ego branding will keep you from niching. It can also cause you to position poorly in the market.

Oh My Damn! The levels to branding are many but the pimp game of it all is real. I know a lot of you aren't familiar with the world of pimp'n except what you see on television and that's cool. Some of you make think it's a crude analogy. That's cool too, but you raised hood adjacent some of you entrepreneurial game is learned on the streets.

Your brand is for sell. At least the products and services that fall under your brand are for sell. Marketing is equivalent to putting it on the streets to attract attention. If you don't agree then think about this. Think about all the sexy look'n folx in commercials enticing you to buy Victoria Secret or Jadore or any other lover brand. It's because sex sells. That's what makes the analogy fit.
