In this episode, we delve into the recent Republican chaos that has been making headlines. From Trump's sexual assault liability to George Santos' fraud indictment and the debt ceiling standoff, the GOP has shown a stark departure from their proclaimed family values.
In our conversation, we explore the psychology behind steadfast Republican support, and what Democrats can do to prevent another four years of Trumpism. Ken, Daryl and Gabriella emphasize the importance of long-term branding and appealing to younger voters for a winning Democratic strategy.
Our biggest advice to Dems: Brand the PARTY, NOT THE PERSON.

In this episode of The Branding Democrats Podcast, Ken, Daryl, and Gabriella discuss the upcoming 2024 presidential election, specifically focusing on Biden’s reelection campaign.
House Democrats confirmed their support for President Joe Biden for another term at their annual retreat this week, even though his approval ratings are in the low 40s and there are concerns about his age. Democrats view him as their strongest candidate for the upcoming presidential election (for good reason!).
Our conversation focuses on how Democrats can address concerns over Biden’s age, and why it may not matter as much as people think it does. In the words of Joe Walsh, a former GOP Congressman: “Joe Biden is old, but Donald Trump is Deranged.”
Ken an Daryl discuss the positive accomplishments of the Biden administration, including record job gains and business startups, cuts to the deficit, and passing landmark bills.
Daryl delves deeper into values vs talking points, and how Biden is focusing his reelection campaign on freedom. In his reelection announcement ad, Biden says: “courage, opportunity, democracy, freedom: they’re the values and beliefs that built this country and still beat in our hearts. But they’re under attack by an extreme movement that seeks to overturn elections, ban books, and eliminate a woman’s right to choose”. We talk about how aligning Democrats with freedom is useful in combatting right wing extremism.
When it comes to Biden's winning reelection strategy, we want Dems to remember: It's the PARTY, not the PERSON. Voters should choose which side's values resonate with their own... At the end of the day, it's the party making decisions about our lives, not one individual.

Welcome to the latest episode of Branding Democrats, where we discuss strategies for selling the Democratic brand.
During our conversation, we acknowledge that, like everyone else, politicians have flaws. This is precisely why we emphasize the significance of prioritizing party values over individual candidates.
We all know someone who claims to "not like either side" or "not care about politics". In America's political system, this line of thinking means that you are letting others make choices about your life. Ken, Daryl, and Gabriella discuss how to better communicate with this segment of voters.
In this episode, we also examine the emotional appeal of branding and the ways in which Republicans have capitalized on this with their fear-mongering and scapegoating tactics. Democrats, on the other hand, have the chance to connect with voters through more positive emotions such as empathy and compassion towards others.
In a discussion of selling the Democratic brand, we emphasize the importance of town halls in political messaging to connect with voters and get press coverage. We mention how former President Obama's inspiring vision helped unify the Democratic party and why it's critical to have an overarching democratic message that resonates with voters.
Democrats fight for the people, and we must hammer home this key message to appeal to the majority of voters who are paying little attention to politics.
Tune in today, and let's work together to create a better future for all.
