We are all having a collective experience right now. It may not be exactly the same for each of us, but is important that we are sharing in a what can be called a "collective trauma." Trauma deeply agitates our nervous system, which requires us to spend more time tending to our emotional state to stay regulated. Simultaneously the marketing for "transformation" "motivation" and to have some mega life change during quarantine is all over the place. This propaganda is dangerous. It can leave us feeling like we need to "do" instead of "be" during this difficult time. In this podcast, I discuss a trauma psychologist's perspective on this shared experience and offering suggestion to better cope with our emotions are we continue to ride the waves.

I think we are all sick about talking about the VIRUS. Yet, we are all fixated in the hysteria. Our focus on the hysterics is a great distraction from being called to the bigger moment, the lesson, or the new perspective. Oprah says, "crisis arrives because it has something to teach us." Yet, this teaching moment does not protect us from discomfort. In fact, it often increases it. The lesson may not always be what we want to learn, but allows us to become more resilient to our life experiences and that is the true gift. So this week let's open our eyes to what is around us, what we are experiencing, and what the true lesson is.

We talk a lot about our relationship to self and how we can become more flexible in the way we understand ourselves and others. We enact lots of strategies so we do not have to feel our discomforts with others. Projection is one of them. Our child are amazing examples of this. In this episode I explain what Projecting behavior is, how it creates blocks in our true self and ways we can work with it to gain more insight and becoming Brave Beings.

I have been in quite the transformation these last 4 weeks. I wanted to be able to share with you my process. We talk so much about transformation and rarely do we get to see it in action. In this episode I reflect on my recent transition into motherhood. It has been packed with lots of joy and discomfort. Offering me great insight into the balance that life can offer us as we enter into our new roles. I also draw parallels between the therapeutic process and childbirth.
