Fi: Saimaa-järvi oli tänään yhtä kaunis kuin aina talvella.
En: Saimaa-lake was as beautiful today as it always is in winter.

Fi: Jää ulottui silmänkantamattomiin, valkoinen lakeus kohtasi harmaan talvitaivaan.
En: The ice stretched as far as the eye could see, the white expanse meeting the gray winter sky.

Fi: Järveen oli kokoontunut innokkaita pilkkijöitä osallistumaan kilpailuun.
En: Enthusiastic ice fishers had gathered at the lake to participate in a competition.
