Have you ever said yes to something you really didn't want to do, simply because you were afraid of disappointing someone?
Maybe you feel guilty saying no, worry about what people will think, or find yourself agreeing to things even when you're already overwhelmed. You want to be kind and helpful, but somewhere along the way, pleasing people has become more important than being honest about what you can give.
Why is it so hard to say no without feeling selfish or guilty?
In this episode of Break Free From Insecurity, we're talking about people pleasing, fear of rejection, and the beliefs that can keep us trapped in seeking other people's approval.
You'll discover why disappointing someone can feel so threatening, how to recognize when you're trying to earn love or acceptance, and what God's unconditional love has to do with finding freedom.
In this episode, we'll explore:
Remember: You don't have to earn love by always saying yes. Someone else's disappointment doesn't automatically mean you've done something wrong.
You can love people well, have healthy boundaries, and remain secure in God's love—even when someone doesn't agree with your decision.

Have you ever walked away from a conversation and thought, “Why did I just tell her all of that?” Or realized you talked so much that the other person barely had a chance to share?
Whether you tend to overshare, talk too much when you're nervous, or struggle to make room for others, this episode is for you.
I'll share how insecurity can cause us to focus so much on ourselves—what we want to say, how we're being received, and whether people like us—that we lose sight of the person right in front of us.
You'll learn the difference between healthy vulnerability and oversharing, why we sometimes try to create closeness before trust has had time to grow, and how to recognize when you're dominating a conversation. We'll also talk about how to respond kindly when someone else talks too much.
In this episode, you'll discover how to:
God isn't asking you to hide yourself or stop being open. He's teaching you how to love others well—and that includes making room for them, too.
Three things to remember: Make room for others. Let trust grow over time. Get curious, not condemning.
And through it all, invite the Holy Spirit to help you grow in self-awareness, consideration, and genuine interest in the people around you.

Struggling to make friends? Maybe you're shy, you don't know what to say, or you find yourself wondering what other people are thinking about you.
I know that feeling. For years, I struggled to make friends and didn't even know how to start a conversation. When I finally asked God to help me, He taught me something that completely changed the way I connected with people.
In this episode, I'll share how God taught me to move beyond surface-level conversations, genuinely take an interest in others, and get my eyes off myself and onto the people right in front of me.
You'll discover some simple, practical ways to build friendships—and how learning to listen, remember, serve, and take an interest in someone else's world can change the way you connect with people.
Because sometimes the key to making friends isn't figuring out how to get people to like you.
It's learning how to love people well.
ACTIVATION QUESTIONS
Father, who is someone You want me to see differently?
Is there someone You've already placed in my life that I've been overlooking?
Father, what do You want me to know about this person?
And then:
Father, what do You want me to do?
Is there a conversation I need to start?
Is there a question I need to ask?
Is there a way I can serve?
Is there someone I need to invite to coffee?
Just sit with Him for a few minutes and listen.
How do you trust God when what He put in your heart still hasn't happened? When you've prayed, waited, and tried to do the right thing—but you still don't understand what God is doing—it can be easy to let uncertainty turn into insecurity.
You may start wondering: Did I hear God correctly? Has He forgotten me? Is He really good? Can I trust Him?
In this episode, we'll look at Abraham and Sarah and discover how to trust God even when His plan doesn't make sense. You'll learn to anchor yourself in three truths: God is faithful. God is wise. God is good.
You don't have to understand God's plan to trust Him. You can take the next step He gives you and leave the outcome in His hands.
And when uncertainty starts telling you something about God—or about yourself—stop and ask: What am I believing right now? Is it true?

Because sometimes the hardest part isn't waiting for God to act. It's learning to trust Him while you wait.
What If God's Delay Isn't a Denial? Discover what to do when His promise seems impossible and how God may be preparing you in the waiting.
Have you ever believed God put something in your heart—and then watched the circumstances make it seem less and less possible?
Maybe you've waited so long that you're wondering if you missed your chance. Maybe you're thinking, I'm too old. I'm too late. I messed it up. Maybe God can do this for someone else, but not me.
Abraham and Sarah knew what that felt like.
God had given Abraham a promise, but as the years passed, that promise began to look humanly impossible. And yet, God had not forgotten.
In this episode, we'll look at what Abraham and Sarah can teach us about God's delay, impossible circumstances, trusting God's timing, and letting go of the need to figure out how His promises will happen.
I'll also share part of our family's story of waiting for God to make a seemingly impossible dream of moving overseas as missionaries a reality—and how I learned that I didn't have to know the how or put a deadline on God's promise.
And we'll talk about something we often miss while we're waiting: God may be preparing you in ways that seem completely unrelated to your destiny. The relationships, lessons, disappointments, and ordinary experiences along the way may actually be stepping stones God is using to prepare you for what's ahead.
Most importantly, don't put your life on hold while you wait for the dream.
While you're waiting for God to do something through you, He may be doing something in you.

When your child pulls away, it can make you question everything—including who you are—but their choices don't get to define your identity.
When your own child pulls away or doesn't want a relationship with you, it's natural to replay the past and wonder:
Did I fail as a mother?
In today's episode, I'm joined by Sarah Wall, host of the Praying Moms of Estranged Children podcast and a Christian estrangement mentor. Having walked through seasons of estrangement with her own adult children, Sarah understands the worry, heartbreak, and uncertainty that moms can carry.
Together, we talk about how painful circumstances can become painful beliefs about ourselves—and how to recognize the difference between healthy self-examination and condemnation that keeps us stuck in shame.
We also explore how to identify the deeper lie beneath the thoughts and emotions we're experiencing, bring those beliefs to God, and begin receiving His truth.
Because you may have made mistakes. We all have.
But something that happened in your relationship with your child does not get to define who you are.
Your child's estrangement may be part of your story, but it doesn't get to write your identity.

Many Christians love Jesus but still live like spiritual orphans. Discover how the Father's love and the Spirit of adoption help you stop striving, break free from the orphan mindset, and live from the security of knowing you already belong.
Have you ever wondered why some Christians seem to live with so much freedom and joy while others spend their lives striving to prove they're enough?
Why do some people celebrate another person's success while others secretly compare themselves? Why do some rest in the Father's love while others constantly wonder if they've done enough?
The answer may surprise you.
You can know Jesus... and still live with an orphan mindset.
In this episode, we'll explore how the fear of not belonging quietly shapes our relationships, our thoughts, and even the way we relate to God. Through the story of the Prodigal Son, you'll discover that both the rebellious son and the religious son needed the very same thing—the Father's love.
We'll also explore what it means to receive the Spirit of adoption in Romans 8 and why Jesus came to do more than save us from sin—He came to bring us to the Father.
If you've been striving, comparing yourself to others, trying to earn God's approval, or wondering if you truly belong, this episode will encourage you to stop living like an orphan and begin living as the beloved daughter your Father says you already are.

Ask the Holy Spirit:
"Would You show me one area where I've been trying to get from another person what my Father has wanted to give me all along?"
Then ask the Father:
"What do You want me to know about belonging to Your family?"
Listen.
Write down what you sense Him saying.
Then declare:
I release the lie that I have to earn love.
I release the lie that I don't belong.
I receive the truth that I already belong to my Father.
I am His daughter.
I have a place in His family.

If you've ever felt like you don't belong, struggled with abandonment, or feared being left, discover how the Father's love gives you the security of knowing you belong in God's family.
If you've ever struggled with abandonment issues, the fear of being left, or feeling like you don't belong, this episode is for you.
Sometimes the deepest wound isn't that someone left.
It's what their leaving taught you to believe.
Maybe you've spent years trying to earn love, prove your worth, or keep people from leaving—without realizing those fears have shaped the way you relate to both people and God.
In this episode, we look at one of Jesus' most familiar parables through a fresh lens: The Prodigal Son.
You'll discover that there weren't just one, but two lost sons.
One left home.
The other never felt at home.
Both needed to experience the Father's heart.
We'll explore how the fear of abandonment can quietly become an orphan mindset—and how God's love invites us to stop striving and start living as beloved daughters who already belong.
Ask the Father:
"Where am I still living like I have to earn a place in Your family?"
Then ask Jesus:
"What do You want me to know about belonging to You?"
Listen.
Write.
Receive His love.

Do you ever feel like you're not enough?
Do you find yourself second-guessing your decisions, worrying about what other people think, or trying to earn your worth through performance?
What if those struggles aren't the real problem?
What if they're simply surface struggles pointing to deeper beliefs about who you are?
I'm Marji—a teacher and passionate follower of Jesus who loves helping women uncover lies and replace them with God's truth. For years I lived trapped by insecurity, people-pleasing, and the fear of what others thought of me. I lived with a deep fear of rejection, and it was paralyzing. Everything began to change when God showed me that I wasn't just struggling with insecurity and rejection—I was believing lies about my identity.
As I began replacing those lies with God's truth, I discovered something life-changing:
My identity isn't something I have to earn. It's something I already have in Christ.
Together each week on Break Free From Insecurity, we'll uncover the lies that keep us stuck, discover what God says is already true about us, and learn to live from our true identity in Christ.
We'll explore topics like:
• Discovering false identity and true identity
• Overcoming insecurity, rejection, and people pleasing
• Renewing your mind with God's truth
• Hearing God's voice and growing in wisdom
• Setting healthy boundaries
• Replacing fear, shame, and comparison with confidence rooted in Christ
Many of our surface struggles point to deeper core beliefs. Together we'll uncover those beliefs and replace them with God's truth.
If you're ready to stop striving, start believing what God says about you, and experience the freedom that comes from living in your true identity, you're in the right place.
