Karibu! We have an incredible and relevant conversation with our guest, Jenetta Barry ~ who is currently in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. The symbolic date of October 10th, which includes World Mental Health Day, World Jenny’s Day and Tiffany’s birthday, made this all happened! For those who may be grieving in various areas in your life, Jenetta’s story might offer you a light at the end of the tunnel.
Warning: This content may cause discomfort and upset listeners, however we believe these are still important conversations to be had. This episode discusses suicidal issues.
Jenetta shares with us the greatest life test that fell upon her, when her daughter Jenny died of suicide. This in depth discussion explores how one protects their energy, the purpose of creativity, avoiding the misconceptions of our trauma, parental advice around mental health, healing from our wounds, and much more. In closing, Jenetta reassures us that ‘no one is broken’ but is simply missing the skills and tools towards adversities in life. Once we recognize the choices we can offer to ourselves is when we discover the inner wisdom without judgment or fear and rather we will find the self-compassion, and the kindness we offer to oneself.
Keep your eyes peeled for the celebratory event on World Jenny’s Day featuring International entertainers from the theatre and arts , featuring Tiffany representing Japan on October 10th at USA Global TV ~ https://usaglobaltv.com

We are excited to share with you an entertaining chat with the "Yoganator" ~ Justin Berti, all the way from Los Angeles, California. Listen in on the amazing experiences in the world of acting.
Tiffany and Justin reminisced on Tokyo Fashionista and Justin’s motivational 80’s music themed dance classes that have left an imprint to the like-minded community. The chat flows from sobriety, confidence and rejection as an actor, advice to newcomers to the TV screen, the importance of a supportive family, definition of success and the zen lesson learnt from his lowest moments in life. Justin teaches us that success is always putting your best foot forward in everything you love and knowing you're worth without doubting your efforts. Justin leaves a heartfelt compliment of Tiffany to her listeners and lets us know that Tiffany is proof that you can turn your life around! We hope this inspires aspiring actors and all to never doubt yourself, and that the world truly can be your oyster once you add dedication and grit!
Justin Berti dances, models and acts. He appears in films such as Ramen Girl, the Showtime series Submission, the villain in Lifetime's Deadly Cheers, as ‘Mario Bargellini’ in Driven to Kill and romantic film Divorce Bait. He also starred in the popular Billie Eilish's famous "Bad Guy" music video and in the independent film Frontera. Justin is an instructor of Yogic Arts (a powerful mix of Ashtanga, Martial Arts, and Modern dance), Justin's acting technique and "can do" attitude derive from his physical body mastery, prompting his nickname The Yoganator.

This week we have a wonderful guest, Jenny Rarick from the US and they are currently living in Hofu-shi, Japan. Jenny identifies as Gender Fluid & Gynesexual, this is the main topic in the curious world of gender identity spectrums with Tiffany!
Tiffany and Jenny met through Pride house in Shinjuku, which is a LGBTQ+ community that provides both physical and mental relaxation to be able to express one’s Gender & Sexual identity without judgement. We learn from Jenny’s introduction that her gender identity depends on the situation and day. The conversation dives into Jennys experience in Japan, what she loves about the country, the cultural differences, dating experiences and the challenges they face as a foreigner and with their Gender identity. Jenny expresses how they are not ashamed of how they represent themselves in the world. Jenny mentions that being LGBTQ+ isn’t defined by a person's fashion, and want to be treated like everyone else without the extra steps.
Jenny was born in the City of Indianapolis in 1989, and lived in the small city of Muncie. Jenny double majored in Environmental Science and Japanese, and minored in Astronomy. They undertook a one-year study abroad program at Tokyo Gakugei University. Jenny has a Master's degree in geology (specifically planetary science) and a graduate certification in University Education and Teaching. They were accepted into the JET Program in October of 2021, and they hope to stay in Japan to continue their position in JET for another two years or so. They hope to begin a career in university administration, preferably in international programs.

Welcome to our fifth, T-Time Tuesdays with Tiffany, alongside one of the team members, Minami. This has been a space where we chit chat about our past episodes, events that have caught our attention and updates on future projects.
Firstly, we would like to thank our listener, Kristine, for the wonderful review as she found a much needed reminder to not view her small wins as selfish but rather a much needed form of self love. Going back, we began with opening the conversation like most do, about the weather. We then jump to an interesting article that caught our eye from about how the Japanese government is launching a “Sake Viva!” campaign in hopes to have the youth buying more alcohol to boost the shrinking industry. We share various comments and concerns around the topic of alcoholism and alcohol in Japan. Tiffany shares her experience and sheds light to speculations of the culture in Japan between drinking and opening up, alongside her journey towards sobriety. We hope you found the topic as fascinating as we did.
Lastly, we would love to hear from you as to what you think about the T-Time Tuesday series. Are there any stories that relate to you in what we talked about? What would you like for us to cover in the future? Thank you for your support and joining us!

We left off as Jo was explaining about Almaarii, that collects unique stories of queer and trans “closests/cupboards”. By matching mostly heteronormative illustrators with each voice, Almaarii has bridged deep connections towards respect and love of LGBTQ+ individuals and generated better allies through new friendships. Jo’s definition of allyship consists of being open to learning and being respectful without making it about yourself. The discussion then lead to the stigma behind sex work, specifically in India, and the damaging laws inplace due to the conflation of sex workers and victims of trafficking. Such issues derive from the infantilization towards sex workers, which resemble similar responses that LGBTQ+ have faced, and denying the self determination of the persons. Additionally, the illegalization of sex work not only drives sex underground but further exploits both sex workers and trafficked victims alike. They also emphasize the lack of a balanced view and the “edited reality” towards sex work in acclaimed documentaries, and how mainstream conversations focuses on questioning the morality of the work, rather than recognizing the stigma that affects families from such communities. Lastly, Jo’s inspiring last words remind each of us to never underestimate our contribution, big or small, as part of the world community.

For this episode our fascinating guest from London, Jo Krishnakumar shares their knowledge and research in regards to LGBTQ+ and sex workers. For those who don’t know what to expect, this may be quite an interesting listen for you.
Jo goes as they/them and is a trans Agender person. Jo reminds us that our identities are expansive and we should never feel pressured as with more information, the language we use to describe our existence changes alongside it. The conversation turns towards Pronouns, an affirming action that the LGBTQ+ movement has highlighted in recent years. It is okay being confused, but Jo reassures us to “be open to the world and the world will be open to you”.
The discussion leads to cultures, and Jo explains the “bubble” growing up with the lack of access to information that on one hand, restricted the means to express their struggles and on the other, those around them exhibited discrimination towards LGBTQ+ persons.
We move on to Jo’s coming out story as both gay and trans, where their parent were open to learn more about their identity. The message to parents is to “Trust your kids!” as you listen and ask questions instead. Lastly, Jo shares their journey from their love and curiosity behind people’s stories, which furthered their passion in researching and discovering the aspects of sociality that bridged the sex work movement that was adjacent to their queer activism. This then opened to Jo’s personal projects, “Almaarii” which translates to “steel cupboard” that reimagines the concept of the “closet” for queer people as an extensive expression outside of the English language. We discover why Jo, who teaches, has immense respect for teachers who have played a vital role in their lives and expresses the euphoria of knowing oneself, in a world that does not afford you the words.
To be continued next week!
JO KRISHNAKUMAR is a PhD Candidate of Anthropology and Sociology at SOAS, University of London. Their research is a patchwork-like and participatory ethnographic project on the intersections of documentary film, leadership, networks and the sex workers', queer and trans rights movement in South India. They are currently working as the Communications Coordinator at the National Network of Sex Workers, and on two personal projects, Almaarii and Transform with collaborators. Their interests lie in curation, activism in academia, research, advocacy, intersectionality and fighting oppressive systems together.

Welcome to our fourth, T-Time Tuesdays with Tiffany, alongside team member, Minami. In celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of the show, we have changed this chit chat segment from “Tea Break Time” to T-time Tuesdays as we find it more catchy! Firstly, we again want to congratulate Tiffany, her team and you our listeners for reaching the 2nd Year of the “Breakfast with Tiffany Show” podcast! From this occasion, we shared the recent special episode with Natalie Glebova and Tiffany was pleasantly surprised at the many ways she related to Natalie’s interest in spirituality and was grateful for the wisdom she brought to the episode. We also discussed Tiffany’s recent volunteering with the homeless community, from the volunteering spirit in Japan to introducing a book by Kouta Ishii, who has a chapter in his book that explains the deep relationship with homelessness and disabilities. For those interested in looking to spend their time helping with the homeless in Tokyo, Grama Seva Japan is one of the organizations that dedicate their time to this wonderful cause, and the event that Tiffany attended was held by this group of amazing activists. We also hope you will look out for our next episode that will cover sexwork and intersectionality with an exciting project the team is working on. Most importantly, as we enter summer in Japan with the rise in COVID and heatwaves, we hope everyone stays safe, hydrated and healthy. Lastly, we would love to hear from you as to what you think about the T-Time Tuesday series. What did you think of this conversation? Are there any questions you have for us? What would you like for us to cover in the future? Thank you again for your support and time.

Kia Ora! This is Part TWO of the episode with our inspiring guest, Chris Huriwai from Aotearoa New Zealand. Tune in to find out the continuation of this fascinating conversation with Tiffany!
TRIGGER WARNING: This content may cause discomfort and upset listeners, however we believe these are still important conversations to be had nonetheless. This episode discusses animal cruelty and unethical practices behind the dairy industry.
We continue our conversation with graphic details on animal cruelty and damaging effects it causes on the land, animals, and people. The conversation expands upon water conservation with indigenous connection to the land and its vitality to small communities, the culture of information suppression of greenwashing, and the support required for small-scale farmers against larger corporate farms. Looking back on the documentary “Milked”, Chris explains how he would have liked to further cover medical science and inform us about a fertilizer mineral known as ‘Blood phosphate’ that is fueling a war in Western Sahara due to the dairy industry. In this interview, Chris encourages us to be open to learning, to self-reflect on things that upsets us, read lots of books, arm ourselves with information, learn from other non-violent passive movements, be community oriented and value social aspects with your activism. Finally, we learn that what pushes Chris is his moral obligation to mother earth, as he says “we are each other” as we act through our values over outcomes. With such inspiring words, we hope this discussion will give you motivation and a peace of mind in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming.
