He then unravels the tragic story of Joe Cortian from North Royalton, Ohio, whose son died in the GTO. After years of the car languishing, a friendship with car enthusiast David Nelson leads to the car's sale and the establishment of a scholarship in Joe's son's name at Notre Dame, restoring some solace to Joe and preserving the car's legacy.
