Boswell Media’s radio, news, sports, and digital efforts from 2025 have been recognized with multiple nominations for the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters (MAB) Excellence in Broadcasting Awards.
In total, Boswell Media received 20 nominations across 14 categories, with all three stations — WCKK (Kicks 96), WKOZ (Cruisin’ 98.3), and WLIN (Breezy 103.7) — represented.
For the fifth straight year, “B’Mo in the Morning” on Kicks 96 earned a nomination for Radio Morning Show, while host Brian “B’Mo” Montgomery received another nomination for Radio Personality of the Year. WCKK also picked up nominations for Commercial Announcement, Commercial Campaign, Radio Public Service Award, and Station Promotion.
WKOZ’s news coverage led the company in nominations, with Randy Bell earning honors for Anchor/Reporter, Breaking Weather, Continuing Coverage, Multimedia, Newscast, and Use of Sound. His nominated work included coverage of major weather events, extended news reporting, and championship sports coverage.
WLIN also earned significant recognition, led by Chris Davis, who received a nomination for Anchor/Reporter, along with honors in Continuing Coverage, Feature Story, Multimedia, Newscast, and Sports Story categories. WLIN’s nominations recognized coverage of state championship seasons, impactful storytelling, and community-focused sports reporting.
Boswell Media Sports earned multiple nominations for its coverage of local high school athletics, including coverage of three state championship games: Ethel Girls Volleyball, Kosciusko Football, and Leake Academy Football. From in-depth game broadcasts to feature stories highlighting the players and community, these nominations celebrate the team’s commitment to telling the stories of local athletes and championship seasons.
“These nominations reflect the passion, professionalism, and dedication our entire team brings to serving our listeners and community every day,” said Boswell Media General Manager Melissa Boswell Townsend. “We are extremely proud of our staff and grateful for the opportunity to represent central Mississippi with quality broadcasting and meaningful local coverage.”
