McAdams has released its 2026 football schedule.

The schedule includes non-district games against Amite County, West Lowndes, JZ George, St. Andrew’s, and Riverside.

District games for the Bulldogs will be at Ethel, at Sebastopol, at Noxapater and vs Nanih Waiya.

The first game of the season is set for Friday, Aug. 28 vs Amite County.

KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–Just before 11 p.m. Saturday a call came in to 911 in Kosciusko for a minor wreck in the McDonald’s dive-thru.

The person who called it in said that their Chevy Tahoe had been rear-ended by a Dodge Caravan and the people inside appeared to be arguing.

It was not clear whether the argument had anything to do with the mishap, an ambulance was called when one person reported a pain in the head.

No one was reported to have been arrested.

KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–A tree was reported to have fallen on a power line Saturday evening in Kosciusko.

That was on Hillview Dr., which is just east of North Natchez St., behind Popeyes.

While the tree falling on the power line caused sparking and the fire department was called out, no injuries were reported and Kosciusko Water and Light was called to come and cut the power to the pole and begin repairs.

KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–Two one-car wrecks were reported in the overnight hours Friday and Saturday in Attala County.

The most serious of the two happened about 5:30 Saturday morning when a car was reported about 25 yards into the woods across from the new bypass on the west side of Kosy, along Hwy. 12.

One person was reported hurt in that wreck and an ambulance was called.

The other wreck, which took longer to clean up, even with no reported injuries, was near Carmack Friday night.

That wreck was on Hwy. 35 near Hwy. 440, about 9:30 p.m.

A car was reported to have run off the road and wrecked. An ambulance that was called was turned around when it was determined no one had been seriously hurt. It took several hours to removed the car.

The Kosciusko Whippets baseball team hosted the Indians of Byhalia in a double header for the first round of  the baseball playoffs.

The home team dominated and won the first game, 15-0, in two and a half innings.

The Whippets also shut out the second game in three innings.

Aidan Howard was named the Autumn Ridge Player of the Game for game one.  Kenyan Weatherby was named the second game’s Player of the Game.  Now, that’s something to smile about!
