Dispatchers are the first point of contact in emergencies and provide calm, clear guidance when every second counts.

ACSO notes that dispatchers are key to both public safety and first responder efforts. They offer reassurance to callers, coordination to first responders, and life-saving communication during times of crisis. Their quick thinking and compassion make a lasting impact, and often goes without public recognition.

The Attala County Sheriff’s Office expressed their thanks in this message, acknowledging dispatchers as the unseen heroes who help keep Attala County safe every day.

The Gasoline Alley car show returns to the 56th annual Natchez Trace Festival on Saturday, April 25th.

Presented by Kosciusko Auto Parts and Dickerson Petroleum, Gasoline Alley displays some of the best in classic and muscle cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

As always, Gasoline Alley will be located behind Citizen’s National Bank and the Kosy Pocket Park. Anyone looking to enter their own vehicle in the show can expect to pay a $25 fee.

Country music legend Marty Stuart is inviting the public to an afternoon of music, art, and storytelling right in the heart of his hometown.

On Saturday, April 25th, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, Stuart and distinguished guests will lead a guided journey through downtown Philadelphia as four new murals are officially designated. Each mural is inspired by iconic country songs and the real lives and stories behind them.

The event, presented by Marty Stuart’s Congress of Country Music, will unfold as a walking experience through the city streets. Attendees can expect live musical tributes, mural unveilings, and heartfelt remarks from community leaders and sponsors being honored for their support.

The afternoon will conclude with a special performance by country music icon Connie Smith.

“This is more than an event,” the organizers shared in a Facebook post. “It’s a celebration of the stories that shaped country music.”

The initiative ties directly into Stuart’s broader vision for the Congress of Country Music in Philadelphia, Mississippi — transforming downtown into a living tribute to country music’s heritage through public art.

Several murals have already been unveiled in recent months (including floral-themed works and tributes like “Broken Halos”), and this event continues that momentum by highlighting the deep connections between song, history, and community.

The gathering will take place starting at 439 Beacon Street in downtown Philadelphia.

Tryouts for the Kosciusko High School boys and girls soccer teams have been scheduled for students interested in playing during the 2026–2027 school year.

Girls tryouts will be held Tuesday, April 21, while boys tryouts will take place Wednesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 23.

All tryouts will run from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Landrum Field.

Students interested in participating are asked to complete the required online tryout form and carefully review the information included in the form description prior to attending.
