On this episode, we begin by mourning the fall of our champion Deontay Wilder on this last week of Black History Month.  We then give a brief recap NAACP image awards and discuss the empowering lesson that can be learned from being in spaces like that. Next, it was important to acknowledge Kobe and GiGi's memorial service and to thank Vanessa Bryant for sharing that moment with us. By using Nipsey's mother's words to help us heal from the losses, we begin to think about legacy and lessons that we can learn from both Nip and Kobe.  Are you trying to make it out or make it with? We question what does it mean to Buy Back the Block? Finally, we spotlight Matthew Cherry for his work on "Hair Love" & discuss the natural hair movement, "good hair", and the politics of Black women's hair. 

On this episode, we begin by talking about ways we probably should not celebrate Black History Month. Don't get us wrong we love King Kunta and everyone should see roots, but maybe kidnapping isn't the best way.  We then tackle the issue of homelessness and housing insecurity.  We use the voice of Ronald Davies to expose the inhuman nature of this growing crisis happening nationwide. We acknowledge Saturne Tchabong and Mason Foster for their phenomenal documentary on the crisis on homelessness and skid row, 3rd Street, which premiered at the Pan African Film Festival. On the topic of Black Film, we discuss The Photograph in relation to classic Black love stories. The question of "when do you shoot your shot and how much pressure can you apply?" comes up as we think about what these love films teach us about pursuing women.

R.I.P. Janet DuBois, Pop Smoke, & Ronald Davies

On this episode, we open up by addressing the Snoop Dog and Gayle King situation and explore why they are both in the wrong. This conversation allows us to address the multi-layered conversation about rape within the Black community.  The whole episode isn't this heavy though, it takes a lighter turn as we talk about the culture of ghosting and how to become ghostbusters. If you've been ghosted you've probably found out the hard way that you were on the roster and that you've been cut. We discuss the managing of your relationship roster and Valentine's Day plans. Finally, we celebrate the strength and resilience of Zaya Wade and the whole Wade family.
