  • Ep. 75 - Homebrewing a Stout

Welcome once again, neighbors, to a quick and easy episode of the podcast today! In this episode we discuss an overview on how we made this stout from the Brooklyn Brewshop sent to our friend Torry from a Bespoke.com subscription.

It was a Zoom recorded episode, so we have some video we did as well pieced together with clips from when we actually brewed the beer located at our youtube channel here:

  • Ep. 74 - Zoom Meetings Are Fun?

Our first ever try with doing the podcast via Zoom Meeting, and it was kinda weird, but enjoyable! We sample and chat about a cellared beer, Big Ern's Bloody Beer recipe, Chef Kev's New Belgium IPA sampling of Experimental Series and Liquid Paradise, and Chris discusses the difference between two raspberry vanilla 'sour' beers. We also discuss some positive things to come out of the quarantine, and try to solve the frozen beer controversary.

  • Ep. 73 - Nox's Notables 3 - All the Burps (Or Draining the Swamp-fridge)

This is the last episode we recorded in the dungeon just before the real serious quarantine hit us here in the MidWest, so there might be some outdated information spoken in this one. We busted out all the disinfectant and lysol wipes we could find, cleaned everything, and stayed at least 6' apart, but we still got to have some fun, and drug ourselves through 13 different beers to boot. Nox needed to clean out his beer fridge, so we took what he had collected the last couple of months, and threw down!

In this episode, we review All My Ghosts by Long Live Beerworks,  Dragon Fandango by Toppling Goliath, 180 Schilling and Barrel Aged Mountain Standard Double Black IPA from O'Dell Brewing, Thirst Encounters of the Third Kind by Blackstack Brewing, and Revelation Ale Works' Purple Ribbon Pilsner. Drekker came in big with  3 brews: Toon Dip DDH DIP Hopped DIPA (a collab with Fair State Brewing Cooperative), Evil-Natured Robots DIPA, and Chonk Peanut and Jelly Sundae Sour.  FInally we end the day with four from Junkyard Brewing. Queen of the Potluck Ambrosia-styled Wheat Ale, Here for the Cake pastry stout (a collab with local women of the brewing industry), Five-Day Rain NEIPA, and the Barrel Aged Wake Up Late stout aged in Willet barrels.  Oofda, dat's a lot of beer!

  • Ep. 72 - LAST CALL 10 - Game of Throats

In the very last episode we recorded before the quarantine hit us at our homes, we record AFTER a previously aired episode was recorded. Why you may ask? Because we wanted to empty out our fridge to make room for some new releases in the upcoming season, of course!

In this episode, we review Drekker's Danger Will Robinson and Flizzard imperial stouts, Deviation 01 from Revelation Ale Works, and three Game of Thrones inspired brews from Ommegang Brewery. Those three are the Winter is Here, Fire and Blood, and Take the Black Stout varietals.

  • Ep. 71 - Red Wines

What do you get when you get 5 people together to sample red wines together for the first time?  You get this episode. Unapologetic and completely rookie-like, the BBR crew goes through 9 different RED wines and gives their opinion on what  they like or dislike about each one.

During this episode, we sample 19 Crimes Punishment Pinot Noir, Yellowtail 2018 Cabernet/Merlot, 4e 2020 Marquette, Menais e Trois 2017 Midnight Dark Red Blend, Smashberry 2017 Paso Robles, Apothic Dark Red Blend 2017, Rosemount Estate Shiraz 2018, Molly Dooker The Boxer 2016 Shiraz,  and Bear Path Vineyards 2017 Midnight Red Blend.

  • Ep. 69 - 1-year anniversary special at Drekker

Holy Cow, Batman! We made it a whole year! Drekker had us back to celebrate with a potluck to hang out with our friends, former guests, and family! We have as a very special guest one of the owners, and head of nerdery, Jesse Feigum. We also have a few of our guests that have been on previous episodes chat about their time with us, and help us review of few of Drekker's beers. Thanks to all you listeners and neighbors out there for a wild year, and we very much look forward to bringing you more content and laughs in the years to come!

About Brews, Booze, & Reviews

From the publisher's feed

Brews, Booze, & Reviews is a childish podcast about adult beverages. We are just your average joes who are just like your neighbors (the good ones), who like to drink alcoholic beverages of ALL kinds. Slightly educational and kinda amusing, we sample and review brews and booze for your edu-tainment.
