Brews, Booze, & Reviews episodes

  • Ep. 136 - Father's Day Bottleshare Extravaganza! (Booze episode)

Welcome back to another thrilling adventure we like to call: "How many different items can we drink in a podcast, and how high of an ABV can we get to, without making it super sloppy by the end". I think this show might be one of the few where nobody cared too much about that because we had too much fun! We had good ol' Guest #2 Ben Revier on the show, as well as Evan Christie, the manager for Bridgeview Liquors (one of our sponsors).

In this episode we sample and review Moccasin Creek Chokecherry Wine, Goutte De Mauzac Rose Eau De Vie brandy, Transcontinental Rum Line Australia 2013 (Australian Rum), Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez (10 year) rum, Noble Oak Trinity Reserve bourbon, Little Book Chapter 4 bourbon, and Larceny Barrel Proof bourbon. Such a fun show!

  • Ep. 130 - Ernie's Sam Adams Brewing Show

Since it's Big Ern's 50th birthday this year, we couldn't let him go another day without leading his very own show with whatever topic he wanted to do. If you listen back to episode #1 he says how much he loves Sam Adams beers, so he wanted to showcase some of the other beers they make and distribute in variety packs for easy accessibility. Ol' guest #2 Ben Revier and Sam Corr from DCR Brewing join us on the show as we sample and review the Lawn Chair Lager, the Alpine Lager, the Golden Ale, the Summer Ale, the Cold Snap White Ale, and the Beach Session IPA. After we drink those down, we surprise Big Ern with a bottle of 2019 Utopias! Such an interesting beer, and we can't wait to tell you about it!

  • Ep. 129 - Budget Bourbon Blind Contest

The BBR crew sit down and do a solid bourbon episode since the sorta lost episode #2 back in March of 2019. We get help to take six bourbons under $30 MSRP poured into numbered Glencairn glasses while we weren't looking to see what our favorite bourbons are without bias, and to see if we can distinguish all the flavors associated with that whiskey. Follow along as we sample in the following order:

    1)  Old Forester 100

    2) Kirkland Premium Small Batch 7 year bourbon

    3) Evan Williams Bottled in Bond

    4) Evan Williams Single Barrel

    5) Larceny 1870

    6) Weller Special Reserve

  • Ep. 128 - Intro to Tequilas (but really part 3)

We like to find ways to celebrate on this podcast, and Cinco De Mayo is one of those ways! The BBR crew have dived into tequilas a little bit in the past, but we do a bit more research on what it is, how and where it's made, the different kinds and requirements, and what kinds of things people have used as chasers (or training wheels in these here parts). We welcome back to the show Nathan Roe, Beau Fraase, and Cousin Torry!

In this episode we sample and review Arette Anejo, Casa Noble Anejo, Adictivo Anejo, and Don Julio 1942.

About Brews, Booze, & Reviews

From the publisher's feed

Brews, Booze, & Reviews is a childish podcast about adult beverages. We are just your average joes who are just like your neighbors (the good ones), who like to drink alcoholic beverages of ALL kinds. Slightly educational and kinda amusing, we sample and review brews and booze for your edu-tainment.
