    If you aren't your brain.

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I'm here in California having to speak a little quieter because other people were sleeping in this house. But I had a nice long trip down to visit family.

It's been interesting because last night, I discussed how great I felt after getting back into doing some exercise. And starting later that night, something I had eaten or something else happened to where I started having issues. It was like getting hit with a two-by-four, I don't know if I'm sick, I think it's food poisoning.

Now we're pretty sure, cuz both me and my wife tended to hit us at the same time, we think it was something odd that we ate. And so did not sleep well.

I had a horrible time today just trying to get ready to go so that we can be here in California. And it was just one of those things where it's just really, really odd. But it all worked out.

In that process, I can tell that there were certain things I wanted to take care of, I wanted to handle, and I couldn't do as easily you ever have that really thick brain fog.

It really hit me hard that I'm not my brain because I wouldn't even be able to see that there was an issue, that my brain wasn't processing things properly. My body was not processing things properly. It's not me, it's just the machine that I work through.

At least that's how I view it and I don't see any other way I could view it based on just my own experience, I'm sure in your experience, you could say the same thing.

If you just have enough perspective, you could see that if you have the ability to see something like your brain not functioning properly, then you must not be your brain, or there at least is a separate part of the brain that is functional.

Well, the other part is, is dysfunctional. So it's just an interesting idea. Just toss it out there nothing too heavy today. As I said, not fully functioning right now. And my body's not fully functioning but getting over it, whatever it is that I will go through and get over it. And look forward to seeing all my relatives and everything tomorrow and maybe doing something fun with the family. So go check out my book.

If you haven't yet, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business, you can get a free copy at AmazonProofBook.com And that's all I have for tonight. We'll see you tomorrow. In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.

    Best mood-altering activity.

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

When I'm talking best mood-altering activity, I mean, a person could take that a whole lot of different ways. What I'm talking about is something to keep your mood up over a longer period of time.

It's a simple thing and something that everyone always talks about. But I found ways that work out the best for me.

So why am I talking about this, this is a business show, we talk about business and the concepts that business owners deal with and so forth. But I wanted to bring this up because it does go back into the kind of personal journey that you go on as a business person.

So we're getting ready to leave town. For those of you who watch or listen on a regular basis, you'll notice that we tend to leave town we have services that watch over our home, and so forth, but we tend to leave town around the holidays, the different holidays of the year.

One of them can oftentimes be Easter, and so we go home and visit our family.

It's been a while since we've seen them and so we they live down in California. It's always a fun trip just to get in the car and get out of town, we're very much a traveling family.

As things improve in business, we'll probably be traveling even more because we really enjoy it. And I just noticed that my mood was really good from last night all the way through to today.

There's a whole lot of things that go along with that eating right, and all that stuff's good. But I added an element for those of you who listened or watched yesterday, I added a little element back to my routine, and we'll see if I can keep it up.

But a little bit of exercise just a little bit, not a lot, just a little bit. Specifically, I mentioned yesterday, I do a high-intensity interval training. And it's a very small amount.

So much, you'd say there's no way that could possibly do it but it does certain types of exercise. If you exercise too much or wear yourself out, you'll feel worse when you're done than where you started.

It'll affect you for days on end, this specific style of exercising, I really like because it doesn't take too much out of me. It may feel a little sore, you know, within the first couple of hours. But after that feel great.

There are just the natural juices that start flowing, and you start feeling a whole lot better. There are a whole lot of things you could do out there to make you feel good immediately. But if you could make yourself feel I don't want to say make yourself feel bad.

But in a sensible exercise I have not a moving person I like to sit still I don't like to be active. I'm not a sports nut, when it comes to me actually doing the sports I've just never, it's never appealed to me.

I was able to find something, an exercise that works for me that I can do that isn't doesn't take too much time. And at the same time gives me a real pep in my step so to speak. I really enjoy it and I forgot how good it feels just to do a little bit.

You could say it's all in my head but one thing I've noticed is it's literally 36 hours, about a pretty close to 36 hours. It's like a day and a half if that's if I'm doing my math, right. It's about a day and a half. Before I start feeling it come off a little bit.

I know some people call it the runner's high and stuff...

    Trick yourself skinny.

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I'm going to reveal a secret of mine that isn't that big of a secret. It isn't something you haven't heard before, but maybe you need to hear it again. Because I always need to hear it again and again and again.

That is the only progress that I've ever been able to make in my life. Specifically in the areas of health, in the areas of wealth creation, and building businesses, in all these different areas that don't necessarily come naturally.

I've had to resort to this one thing, and it has to do with tricking yourself, how do you trick yourself to be skinny?

How do you trick yourself to be healthy?

How do you trick yourself to make more money?

How do you trick yourself to do any of those things?

I've only found one thing that is relatively foolproof. The problem is how do you get how do you put everything in place to make that one thing work. But if you understand that one thing, you at least have a direction, you have a strategy you could work with, I haven't found anything else that works.

That one thing is the development of a habit. A lot of people say that and it's a really nice, you know, juicy piece, and there's all these books about it and everything else now.

But some of the books that have come out in the last 20 or so years, I think really pin the nail on the donkey. It's very, very close.

Many of them have pieces of it and if you read enough of them, you'll eventually get something that'll work for you. But I'm not saying you need to go out and read books if you can just get this one concept.

Concept, I've talked about it before I first read it in a book called The Slight Edge, which is a short book and it's a good one. Let me see, do I have it right here.

This isn't a review for that book, so we'll talk about that book another time.

The basic idea is if you can take one tiny little step, as the smallest possible measurable step in the direction of, let's say health if you can take one tiny little step on a daily basis, until the point to where it becomes natural to where you don't have to think about it.

It should take a very small effort to begin with but if it has zero effort over the long run, you've created a habit, it takes even more effort to want to stop it not want to stop it.

You may want to stop it but it's easier not to it's easier just to do it. I've talked about this before, this is how I started doing daily podcasts, okay, it just became something that I do.

It's something that I feel uncomfortable if I haven't done unless I'm in a very like I've said before about the only scenario is if I'm in a very different location with different scenario happen, if I'm sleep deprived, anything like that, I might mess, it might mess with my habit.

But otherwise, I have to almost intentionally not do it, in order to not do it, I have to intentionally turn it off because it's become such a big part of what I do.

This has happened with bootload the food that I eat. The problem is a lot of these things can swing back in the other direction, if you allow them to slowly inch their way back, you can build a habit backwards.

But if you intentionally build a habit forwards in a very,

    Stop spinning in circles.

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I'm a Business Investor and I work with a number of different businesses that I usually end up buying into or having a part of, or partnering up with the owners. In that process, my specialty is going in and helping out with a strategy.

What that really means is that oftentimes, there's a spin to business, this chaotic whirlwind that businesses find themselves in, and it's like, you're not going anywhere, it's like, you may be surviving, and you may even be growing, your numbers may be going up, but you're not going where you want to go.

If you're a business owner, if you're an executive, this is a real common place to be close to around this time of year.

So I'm recording this and in springtime. And so there's kind of an explosion that happens at the beginning of the year, where everything starts moving, and everything starts rolling.

As you start going along, as with, you know, a new workout routine or something like that, there's a point at which things start to unravel. You start to lose balance and start to realize that you're not really going anywhere that you're just spinning.

What do you do at that point?

What have you done in the past at that point?

How do you get out of that?

Do you just hunker down and, you know, bite down and just do your best to just survive?

    What do you do?

    Where do you go?

Here's what I'm going to recommend, I'm going to recommend you reach out to someone that can be an anchor point for you reach out to somebody that you trust or that you think you might be able to trust and be able to start working on building up that trust.

Just start talking to someone that's willing to walk you through the process. It's easier said than done unless you already have those people in your life.

If you have those people, if you have a business mentor, if you have an advisor, if you have a consultant of some sort that you've relied on in the past, go to them, do whatever you can to just kind of get back on track, there's always going to be chaos involved in the business.

But you should know where you're going, you should have an idea of how you're getting there and whether you're actually getting there. You should be able to maintain and contain, I should say a lot of the chaos points in your business. And so it's one of the things that I provide for the partners that I team up with.

If it's something you'd be interested in, go to BrianJPombo.com.

Click on the grow my business button and we can talk about it we can talk you know where you're at where you want to be, and how you think you're going to be getting there. And sometimes it's all it takes is just a simple conversation.

I don't mind offering it if you qualify for this type of thing. If it looks like something that I can help with, I'd be happy to help. And if not, no big deal.

If there's no way that we could ever do business together, that's fine. But if we do find a way that'd be great too. So just putting out that word for tonight and if you're wanting to still kind of do a lot of this stuff on your own, go check out my book,

    The problem with free education.

H, I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I'm not going to get political or philosophical with you on this question. But it's an idea that can affect you and your business and how you view raising prices and things of that sort.

It came to me from reading the book Thinking Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. And in it, he actually has a section in there. So this book goes back to it. 37 is when it was first published, and I'm reading the original version of it.

He discusses in there that there's a reason why college education is so valued on many levels, and back then even more so than it is now.

He said that the one he can really pin it down to is that all the education up to a certain point is publicly funded, it's free. There's something about people that if something is free, they are not going to value it as much.

So having a high school education is not all that valuable. For one thing, it's very common, most people have a high school education or an equivalent to it.

But also, it's just not seen as highly recognized as a college education. And the more expensive college gets, the more valuable it is seen in many cases.

It's kind of strange where we are at in the United States right now. Because right now you kind of have a lesser view of college education, while at the same time, they're getting charged more and more.

So it doesn't fit the dichotomy exactly, but if you look over time spread out over time, going back to 1937. And beyond, that, when you've got free education, free is not valued as much as something that's worth more.

Now, the easier it is to get that thing, even if it's worth more if it's easy to get, that's also an issue and it reduces the value of what it is.

So a lot of people have said, Hey, why don't we, you know, just forgive all the college debt, right? You can forgive all the college debt, what if we just made it to where the federal government pays for college, like everyone, everyone gets a four-year degree, why not just everybody gets a four-year degree.

If you do that, you would highly, highly, highly discount the value that college brings. Everyone who is getting more, you're seeing the same situation happening in inflation. If more people have more money, what it doesn't mean that they have more money, it they have more paper have less value.

If you take something of value, and you spread it out all over and make it common, it becomes less valuable, is psychology here. But it's also kind of the laws of the marketplace.

So if you have any form of marketplace free marketplace whatsoever, involved at all, this is going to occur, there's no way to create equal full equalization across the board because the value is perceived in the fact that is it is unequal. Something is valuable when it's less common.

As soon as you make something fully common, it's less valuable. It's a weird thing, it's a weird thing to think about. But when you pull it back to your business, in terms of your business, if you have a lot of something and you are giving it away, people are going to value it less than something that you have a little bit of that you're charging more for. Right, it's the same I could be the same item.

If I took my book and all these things don't have to it doesn't mean you shouldn'...

    Inflation worries.

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

For those you who are just listening in and not watching, I have a news article talking about how Walmart is raising the pay for their truck drivers up to, I think it's at 110,000, something like that.

Everything's going up, everything's going up in prices, not to mean that truck drivers don't earn that, and that there isn't already a lack of workers out there willing to do skilled labor.

There are many issues across the board that is all affecting inflation but here's the thing you got to think about.

Whether you're concerned about it right now or not, you have to be a business owner, a manager or one of the executives in charge of a business, you have to keep your head about you and not get worried and fearful over inflation.

Inflation, in a sense, from what we're looking at right now, for the most part, where we're looking right now at the United States, specifically, you're looking at a situation where the value of the dollar is low and going lower.

Because of that, everything else goes up in price. It's nothing more than that the dollar, the real problem with the dollar, besides all the background and the history of it, and the fact that there's really nothing backing it and all that.

Besides that, if you sweep that aside, the real problem with the dollar is that it is it's an absolute monopoly, not only in our country, but it's creating a semi monopoly around the world. And there is no competition for it.

Unlike everything else that has, that any type of commodity that we have out there any type of anything that is being sold.

For the most part, you have very few areas where you have long-term monopolies as we have with the dollar.

Because of that everyone's kind of stuck with it. At least for now, we're kind of stuck with dealing with it. So instead of freaking out, instead of worrying about all the things you can't handle, when it comes to inflation, you have to take it one step at a time.

You have to look at each area of your business, how much you're paying employees, how much you're charging prices for, you have to look at each of them individually, each at a given time.

Really look at the numbers and see whether you need to raise your prices, whether you need to raise your rents whether you need to raise anything. And take it slow, take it easy. Don't freak out, let the numbers tell you what needs to happen. Don't try and jump ahead.

I mean, obviously, you have to have a little bit of forethought but the main thing is not to try and one-up the system.

It's not necessary, these things will eventually take care of themselves.

Now, a lot of people will say, Well, yeah, the dollar is going to fall out and we're going to have a different type of currency.

All that is all possible in the in history of, of monetary policy, and so forth, these things happen. Don't freak out one way or another, there's going to be a way for you to trade what you do for something of value.

We may call that a $1 or we may call it something else. Don't freak out, take everything one step at a time.

That's the main, the main thing you have to worry about when it comes to inflation or any of the issues that we're dealing with here on an...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9xo34T_x38

    100-page book, book review.

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I have in my hands the 100-page book. This is a concept developed by Mike Kaposi that he talks about in this book, which is 100 pages, but it also shows you how you can write a book that's 100 pages long and have that be useful to your business. Welcome back. We talk about business concepts here. I'm a Business investor.

So I love business concepts and specifically, Martin, the latest topic that I'm most interested in because I've been able to help out the most amount of businesses with this would be content marketing.

So how do you take content, put it out there on a regular basis, and use it to a tool for a way that people can get to know you and your business better?

Therefore become really solid customers, clients, patients, etc. And this is a great way. Okay, this is Mike Capozzi. This is a great book to go check out is if you can't read the rest of this, it says a profitable nonfiction book writing tip.

Okay, so this was talking about nonfiction.

So it fits right in the business owners guide to self-publishing a short customer attraction book. Now, I've talked a lot here about writing your own book. In order for people to get to know you better to know like and trust you more so that they can get to know your business better and eventually become really solid customers.

    I wrote a book myself, it's over. It's over a lot. I think it's over 100 pages.

Then now I'm not so sure, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business is a very short book. 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business you can go check out what I wrote over at AmazonProofBook.com.

You download a free copy, or you can go grab yourself a solid copy there. He's talking here about having simple books that can be passed out, handed out to people mailed out to people. In fact, he calls them Shooks.

Okay, that's for, Short Helpful Books. Shooks.

I know that look at the writing in here. This is not, you know, tiny little writing, this is very easy to read, very easy to look through, you can include a lot of pictures and everything to really make it easy to get through.

It's not made for people that are looking for a textbook, this isn't a textbook, this is something to help promote you your business, whatever you're looking to promote. Great.

Understand that you will get a great understanding of whether you want to do something like this or not by getting a copy of this book, or any of his other show books.

He's got a number of them out there.

A lot of them are around the same topic but really good information. I've got this one highlighted all over the place. I think I had something I did want to I had a great quote here. I wish I would have I wish I would have held my finger on it.

There's so much good stuff in here.

Yeah, here it is. Each book saves at least four hours of interviewing and educating a potential client.

If you just take that idea that this will save you time. It's inexpensive to put out smaller books like this. It's just across the board, you're going to get a really good result especially if you're looking at putting together a book already.

This allows you to put them together quickly he has kind of a lot of templates for how to be able to do that idea...

    Three Video Content Tips.

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

If you notice, we're a little bit shaky today. And one of my tips has to do with the fact that I left my tripod out in the car. I'm having to hold it with my hand because I'm too lazy to go out and get it from the car. Trust me, I will be. Let's shake your video tomorrow.

For those of you listening, you don't have to worry about the shaky video.

    So how about that?

Okay, that's number one, having a tripod that will hold your camera. Even if your camera has a phone, you can get a special little adapter that can hold your camera. Very useful.

For those of you watching this, if you're not watching it, you can go on to BrianJPombo.com.

See this video, you could also compare it to most of my daily videos, when I am not holding the camera.

As a lot less shaky, it's a little bit irritating to watch. So if you need to look away, go for it. I wanted to prove a point though with it. So there we go. Another thing you'll notice if you're listening is the audio quality may not be as good. That's because I'm using my little iPhone headphones here with the microphone.

So it's kind of rubbing up against me. Normally, I use a little lav mic with an adapter going into my iPhone, that's very helpful and making the sound very clear cut the different types of microphones you could try out. But you can get inexpensive microphones that can do the job and can really add to the sound quality, especially if depending on the room that you're using.

I was just working with a friend of mine tonight, who was doing some videos in a very wide echoey room. And so having a good microphone helps this is not the best, but it'll help out in a pinch.

If you ever see my videos from the road, they tend to be a little bit shakier, and they tend to have lower-quality audio. So this is an example.

So those are the first two tips.

    The third tip is lighting.

If you're doing videos on a regular basis, and you're doing it from the same location, like I tend to do here, here at the headquarters, I like to have very consistent lighting. So I have, I normally do it at night.

So if I'm not doing it at night, I make sure I lower the shades. And I have what I make sure I have enough lights, not just the lighting the natural lighting of the room. But I've got another light here. Let me see if I can show you check this out.

I've got one of these this is actually an inexpensive light. But you can see if I have it in the background doesn't look as good by having a front not too bad.

Don't mind all the other garbage in the room. But also just one of those little LED circular lights, they take hardly any energy whatsoever that you can you can adjust them really easily and they're relatively inexpensive.

Something like that is very, very simple. This is one that I had bought before I bought some of my other lighting but this really helps out in this room it makes a big difference.

If you look at some of my older videos, when we first moved to the headquarters a few years back we the lighting was not as good and once I got the good lighting in it really improved watch ability so you'd between the sound between the lights between the shakiness of the camera,

  • MyPillow Giza Dream Sheets 🛏️ Product Review

How MyPillow's Mike Lindell has used personality marketing and controversial political views to help drive sales.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijVNc_2J4_c

    Transcription

Product review My Pillow Giza Dream Sheets. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

Now, I'm not endorsing anything that Mike Lindell does, says, or sells. I'm here to talk specifically about how he does it, and how you can learn from it one way or another.

It's a very interesting process that he uses. One, that he is only used up until the last handful of years when he started getting political is the idea, of sending people off by being political.

So he's an extremely controversial figure out today. But I want to tell you, I'm not here to endorse his politics, or to denounce his politics. I want to talk about how that affects his sales.

Now, I guarantee you one thing is true. The people that like Mike Lindell and his MyPillow brand, only like him more because of his political outspokenness, it's not that he didn't turn people off. I'm sure he turned a certain amount of people off, but now it's become part of his brand.

Now his support of Trump and this and that it's all part of his brand. This is a guy that started from nothing, he was selling these pillows, at county fairs and so forth.

From my understanding, you know, you buy a booth and you just sit there and tell his story. And you talk about the bottom-up celebrity concept.

    This is what he did.

He made himself into a celebrity whether he knew what he was doing or not. He has done it and he has created something that anybody can study. And you can use it one way or the other.

Now I'm not saying you got to go out there and be political, but at the same end, I'm not going to tell you about the Giza Dream Sheets, I didn't buy these. My wife bought these.

I'm certain that she did not know what Michael Lindell position is on this or that or that that sway her one way or another from buying these. She had gotten some type of deal somewhere. Either from a friend or something that she had online, some type of deal where she could get them at a really good price and so she jumped on it. But I want to show you some of the packagings here.

So this came in the package. This is the actual package that the sheets came in here. Let me show you this. This is the little write-up.

    Everything is branded with him.

He is a part of the brand.

And think about this, nowadays even furniture brand of any sort anything that you would consider furniture or bedroom material. Have you seen anyone promoting a pillow or a blanket based on personality?

Where the person that's selling it because they've built up a personality there's no commercials or something else?

You don't see it very often at all, especially in this marketplace, but you can use it in any marketplace. It doesn't matter what it is that you're trying to sell.

    Here's a note from him.

Hello, I'm Mike Lindell the inventor of MyPillow for the longest time I've wanted to come out with these sheets. But until now, I haven't been able to find anything that held up to my high standards. And he goes on and on about this Egyptian cotton and everything about it is just very brilliant, very well written includes one flat sheet and tells you the contents signed by Michael Sandel.

It means something because people know who he is.

    Who is your villain?

Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

I've got Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos here because these are very common villains in different worlds, okay. Right now, you could say, anti-vaccine places.

Bill Gates is a villain very much a very large villain because of his very pro-vaccine stance is his shady background, with a business in the vaccine market and everything else.

Then you've got Jeff Bezos, he's a villain in a lot of places, but specifically in small businesses.

So one of the reasons why I wrote my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business was because people were scared of Amazon.com. And they considered Jeff Bezos, the absolute devil, and specifically the areas that I was working in, in the E-commerce realm.

They were having more and more and more issues, fighting off Amazon and all the things that Amazon was bringing to the table. But that's okay because then that was one of the main reasons why I went with this the title of this book because I wanted to be able to reach out to them and say, I'm one of your type of things, and be able to have that common relationship.

You got to know who your ideal client is their villain, and you have to stand united with them against that villain, whoever, and sometimes it doesn't need to be a real person.

It sometimes it's an industry sometimes that you know, big pharma big this big that, you know, you hear her all these different terms being thrown around.

It's one of those things, and you probably already know what it is but you ought to talk about it more often. You ought to bring it out more often that there is a villain, and why they're the villain, not because your ideal market needs to hear it directly, but they need to hear it from you.

They need to know that your brand that your company that you as a person if you're a person who is has got their face out there, they've got to know that you're on their side. And so having a common villain will help is a simple little idea.

That can be a really big deal in the long run, in terms of really connecting you up with your market, which is really how you build that trust, that creates that unshakable bond. Alright, so hopefully that makes sense. You can find out more details about these types of ideas in my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business.

In a very short book, I cover a lot of areas, and I give you a lot of other places you can go to for more information. Go check out you go pick up a copy of this book. It's simple to read. a short book, you get one Amazon.com at Barnesandnoble.com.

Wherever you buy books, you'll probably find them there. And then you can also download a free copy if you want AmazonProofBook.com That's all I've got for today.

You have a good one, get out there and let the magic happen.
