What does it mean to be Black in America?

Stanford Professor and author, Brian Lowery was called the N-word while riding his bike, arrested as a teen for sitting in his car, and had the police called on him while on a recruiting visit for one of the nation’s most prestigious universities. 

So what would you do if some of your peers argued that hardships were hardships and that those events, while unfortunate, could have happened to anyone? Would you take on the emotional labor of educating them one by one, or would you write an article that gained national attention about how white Americans react to white privilege?
