Does stress really cause weight gain? What does stress do the body and mind? Unfortunately, chronic stress can wreak havoc on the human body including the immune system, the central nervous system, GI tract, and your metabolic rate. The impact of stress on health and the ability to lose weight is often overlooked as women focus on exercise and dieting alone. But stress, which elevates cortisol (the stress hormone), has been proven to correlate with weight gain, hormone disruption, and poor sleep quality. So, what can we do to alleviate stress, de-compress, lower cortisol levels, and ultimately shed excess fat? That’s what I’m going to break down for you today. Join me as I explain the effects of distress, whether physical or mental, and how it creates a domino effect leading to fatigue, gastrointestinal issues, high blood pressure, poor sleep, and weight gain. We’ll also discuss practical tips for eliminating stress and improving sleep quality. Don’t underestimate the effects of stress on your ultimate weight loss goal and health. Tune in to educate yourself and learn how to apply your new knowledge of stress as it relates to health and weight loss.
