What does Basketball Foul Shots, Blonde Jokes and Cows have in common?   Absolutely nothing except they are in this podcast.  Take a little time and listen to Hugh and I discuss, in our first episode of the "what if" series, what if I work with someone I don't like.  We had little challenge with some audio connections in the beginning so please keep listening thru the first 2-3 minutes, we are able to get the recording back on track and I think you will really like our discussion.

Today Hugh and I talk about Speaking with Impact, specifically as a woman.  This topic came from a conversation I had with my book club after ready Playing Big by Tara Mohr.  According to Tara, there are 10 themes that women do while presenting that can give the impression of lack of confidence or down play the impact.  Hugh and I talk about different ways you can speak with impact while stay authentic to how you present your topics.  I also showed off my editing skills.  Can you figure out what fancy new trick I now have!  

This week Hugh takes us down the path of what happens when we get too comfortable.  When we start a new job, or meet a new person we tend to bring our most polished self into the relationship.  Then over time we start to get more informal and test the boundaries.  Hugh gives us the challenge of staying a little uncomfortable in our work or home life.  

This week we discuss having a best friend at work and why or why not.  I read a recent article posted by Gallup that discusses the idea of a best friend at work and why having a best friend makes you more likely to stay with a company and be more fulfilled.  Spend some time with us as we explore the idea of a best friend and why we think it is important to have them.  

  

As many of us are starting to go back into the office and others are choosing to stay home a bit longer Hugh and I dive into how to make this new model successful.  We share some tips, some ideas on how we would work through some pitfalls and some funny stories along the way.
