?”  The question, Who is Jesus?, is one of the most important, most fundamental, foundational questions that can be asked. And the answer will determine how you view Jesus and what His death on the cross really means. Is He a myth or is He real? Is He a mere man, maybe a prophet or a teacher or even a fraud? Or is He really the Son of God, God the Son, the Savior of the world? Listen as Herod and others struggle with this question, Who is Jesus?

The church in Acts was powerful. People were being saved every day.  Prayers were answered every day. Ministry was taking place every day. And somewhere along the way we unintentionally chose form over function, perception over power. And we have been left a feeble church, rather than a church triumphant.

“We are living in the last days.” You have heard that said before, and it’s true.  We are not waiting on anymore prophecies to be fulfilled.  We are waiting on the Savior from heaven to return and gather His Bride like the loving Bride-Groom He is.  You have also heard how we are to live in light of His imminent return.  The only problem is that we are not living as we ought; rather we better fit the description that paul gives to Timothy of the modern church living in perilous Times of the last days.

As Jesus gives The Twelve their missionary assignment, He also gives them directions to how to fulfill it. Don’t you like to be shown how to do whatever it is that your boss asks you to do? Today, we get taken to school by the Master-Teacher on HOW to be good Ambassadors for the Kingdom of God.

Luke 9 tells us why The Twelve are most often referred to as Apostles. The term, apostle, means “the sent-out one.” Here they are gathered together and sent out on a specific mission. You may not be an apostle, but you are His ambassador, sent out on a mission to speak the word and do the work of the One you represent. You are an Ambassador for the Kingdom of God.

To help someone escape from the snare of the devil, certainly there are attitudes and actions that we are to avoid, but more importantly, there are attributes that we need to take up, and hone, and employ. Why is this so important? Because the eternal destiny of people hangs in the balance.

Throughout 2 Timothy 2, Paul has exhorted young Timothy concerning the kind of disciple and leader he needed to be for the people of the church in Ephesus. But why must he be that kind of disciple and leader? That’s the answer we discover in the final verses of this chapter: that Timothy might be in a position to help people escape the snare that Satan and their sin has them in.

Of all the miracles that Jesus performed, it is interesting that few were done the same way. He wasn’t following a formula, rather the demonstrations of His power put His glory on display and gave people a reason to believe in Him.

For the most part, we are not good wait-ers. Waiting and being delayed are more than a little bothersome to us. But the interruption and delay in Jesus’ procession at the end of Luke 8 resulted in the healing of two unclean females. God does far more and far better with His timetable than we do with ours.

God uses clean vessels. We don’t try and live righteous lives to earn salvation; we try to live a good, holy, clean life because that’s the person God likes to use. And here’s some really good news: You can be that person…if you want to be.
