 They say that faith can’t be trusted until it’s been tested. It is certainly true that I discover the depth and strength of my faith when trials overwhelm me. Today we get to look at a man whose faith was so deep and so strong in the midst of trial that even Jesus marveled at him.

We know that God grants to every believer a spiritual gift that we might be equipped to do the work that He has called us to do. If we follow Paul’s instruction to “stir up that gift,” then we need to know how to go about it.

The 20/80 Rule says that 20% of the people at church do 80% of the work of the church. That is not the way that God designed His church to operate. He has equipped every born-again believer so that each one of us has been “Saved to Serve.”

Paul said, “I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” Paul had physical marks, for sure. But he also bore the marks, the character traits of a follower of Jesus Christ. We too should bear “The Marks of a True Disciple. ”

The final section of Luke 6 is dedicated to Jesus’ Sermon on the Plain. Here He talks to His disciples about what it means to really be a disciple. We call them “The Marks of a True Disciple.”

Partnerships are powerful and partnerships are important. Yes, we are to serve the Lord, but not alone. There are those who have gone before us on whose work we build, and there are those who walk beside us who help us build for the future. Paul reminds Timothy of these truths in the extended greeting of this second letter.

There is an old African Proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, walk together.” That is true in the Christian life. We are better in partnership with like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ. Here, Paul talks to Timothy about “The Power of Partnerships.”

Pastor Tim asks, Why is it so critical to hear from God when you are faced with one of life’s big decisions? Because choices have consequences. And whereas you are free to choose whatever choice you want, you are not free to choose the consequences of that choice.

Pastor Tim states, We face choices every day, and some of those choices are more life-changing than others. Facing difficult decisions cannot be approached haphazardly. So let’s take a look at how Jesus approached a critical decision in His own life and how we too might make right decisions.
