Who was king of Assyria during the time of Jonah. In this episode I cover this with some historical context to the best of my ability. My thoughts on this are not to be misconstrued as dogma I do however believe I am correct on this matter.

Is God Pleased with the death of those who die in their wickedness. This is a question many people ask and ponder. The Bible actually answers this question, and What happened to Jonah and the assyrians are examples of Gods heart on this matter. 

What happened in the belly of that great fish? Is it possible that historically the view point was that Jonah actually died and was raised from the dead? In this episode I explore this option.

Are we adhering to the true intent of scripture? Are we focused on worshiping in spirit and in truth? Are we more concerned with the letter of the law and our man made requirements? In this episode I explore these ideas from the lens of church building attendance verses fellowship with the body of Christ. I don't have all the answers this is just one of many  things I ponder on my journey in order to walk in truth.

What is it about peripheral issues that take us so far off the mark. is it that we loose focus, is it that these things drain and steal our attention. in This short episode I explore this Idea through the lens of my limited understanding.

Jonah chapter 2 contains within it the tail of the hypocrisy of humanity. We want for others the opposite of what we want for ourselves, We want mercy while proclaiming judgment on all others. This chapter also highlights our willingness to recognize Gods mercy in the face of our sin and disobedience, while calling others into condemnation.

There is a spiritual battle that rages on in the mind of people. C.S Lewis did a very good job in the screw tape letters theorizing what that battle looks like. 

The Account of Jonah contains many parallels to the Lord Jesus Christ and the message of the gospel. In this episode I loosely explore those parallels and the greater meaning.
