Fort Nas-T, a well known Crime Capital has been ruled by violence and death for many years. A fact which the newly elected Mayor and former Street Fighter, Judah, plans to change.
Sometime in the 2020's...
Ring ring. "Hello, Judah here."
"Yo Noah, what's up. We yanked your podcast. Actually, turn on the TV. I-I want to deliver the second half of this message VISUALLY. The phone call was just to get you to turn on the TV, I guess. I didn't really have a better way to make sure you were already watching the TV. Is it on? Ok, cool. No, you actually have to go specifically to TruTV. I'm on TruTV. Wait, do you get that one? I should have made sure you get TruTV. Oh, you do!? Ok, cool. Ok, give me a second. Oh, I should hang up the phone, too."
On TruTV, the hot, young podcast Brother Date is tied up in a filthy basement.
"You fiend! What have you done to her?"
"Clip show, baby! Clip show all night in here! I've got plenty of clips for another episode and I don't think you want that, so just let us do what we want with the podcast like the mayor before you did."
In this week's fully loaded mailbag, one contributor experiences the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
Then we bust out our magnifying glasses for another round of "find the liberty cap." Did we succeed? Find out on this week's Brother Date.
The research says this week's Voyager came in ten minutes under but that's never a problem for Brother Date.
Flashbacks, dreams, time warps, and schemes this week in the Trek universe.
Also, Butter Ben is back! Is he angling for Matt's job? Listen and find out.
In this week's mailbag, we once again threaten to cancel the mailbag segment.
We play a spirited round of Quiz Time For Ryan in which we attempt to ascertain what celebrities actually value their own time.
Finally, we talk about excellent video games only (Max Payne, Excitebike, you get the picture).
Brother Date! It's apparently NOT contagious!
Look, we were on the same page this week. We both remember Steve Urkel's female cousin's name. We both remember her middle name. We both know who the worst actor on Voyager was this week. We both know too much about the O'Briens' private lives. We both know who covered themselves in glory on TNG this week. We were in perfect sync this week. We are the real "Dream Team." No collusion. Total exoneration. Brother Date.
The podcast finally stops pretending and becomes what it was always meant to be, this week on Brother Date.
It's a very special episode with a moderately special guest! Don't look at the episode title and spoil it for yourself, dummy. You always do that. You always spoil everything for yourself. Why do you read the Wikipedia plot description during the opening scenes of the movie? Why? How can it be better when you already know what's going to happen?
Anyway, there is definitely a spectrum of naivete that we all fall on somewhere and we get into it this week.
Does anybody else see a bad performance on screen and instead of thinking "I could do better than that" just say "I think acting is hard"?
Finally, who's broing down with who after this Klingon civil war is over? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this week's Brother Date.
Mailbag is LIIIIIIGHT so we take a request from a friend that was definitely NOT directed at us and run with it like Michael Johnson scoring a touchdown from way downtown. This episode is tagged "BTS" so we'll see what the mailbag looks like next time. I'm sure ARMY will be totally cool about everything that happens in here. Catch the vibes on Brother Date.
You ever get a stern talking-to from an elder sibling and just have to go play in the sandbox for a minute to keep your cool?
Have you ever met a kindly old man who is super chill and never raises his voice but also ruins your entire existence with his words?
If you did a bad enough mess-up do you think you could theoretically grow a mullet and do crimes?
We try to answer these questions and more on this week's Brother Date.
Which was the better festival, Jeffery's or Landru's?
Despite spending hundreds of hours thinking about it in the last few years, Matt can't seem to remember anything about Star Trek. But he goes so deep on Stevie Wonder's 1972 masterpiece Music of My Mind that we assume your asses will very much be put to sleep.
