Big news from Bill this week, with the arrival of his Steam Deck. What are the the first games he's going to fire up? Find out this episode.
Jackson is flying through Eastward. Or plodding. Or somewhere in between. He's got some thoughts to share.
Showcases will abound for the next couple weeks, with stuff coming from Ubisoft, Disney & Marvel, and that little Tokyo Games Show thing. We'll talk about what has been announced thus far.
Plus - dog contributions. Not particularly brilliant insight from the pups, but they've got stuff to say. And a loving (?) tribute to Rod Roddy and Wilford Brimley, for some reason. This episode really has it all.

Little G and Jackson have completed Kirby and the Forgotten Land, rescued all the Waddle Dees, and finished the post game. Quite the accomplishment for a 6-year old, while slightly less so for an adult.
To the best of our knowledge, Embracer group didn't buy anything else in the past 7 days, but that doesn't mean there were no acquisitions. FromSoftware has some new financial partners, for instance. And Amazon didn't buy EA, but that didn't stop the stock market from acting silly about the rumor.
We'll also talk about some new releases, some upcoming releases, and some of the other things we're anticipating in the more distant future. And threaten people with jaguars, because what would an episode be without wild nonsense??

Bill's got a boatload of game ideas this week, some better than others, but all of the utmost quality. Jackson chips in a few as well.
Embracer group continues gobbling up everything in its path. Could BvB Studios be next? (Spoilers: no, no it could not.) Gamescom 2022 is happening now, and we have some initial impressions of opening night. And there's more information about lots of games, such as Final Fantasy 16, Black Myth: Wukong, and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.
Plus: what's up with Australia? Is Meat Loaf superior to meatloaf? Are geese sociopaths? We discuss all these things and more this week.

Jackson and Little G are saving Waddle Dees left and right, like some sort of well-oiled Waddle Dee saving machine. We talk about Kirby and the Forgotten Land a bit today, along with news on various delays and some upcoming showcases.
We also have what is potentially our most offensive new game idea thus far, so keep your ears open for that. Plus a deep dive into the naming conventions of MLS teams, for some reason.

Is Tekken 8 coming soon? Soonish? Eventually? And will they retcon King into a real jaguar? We'll talk about it this episode, along with the delayed Marvel's Midnight Suns and the (hopefully still) upcoming Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion.
We also discuss our ideas for alternative genres for Mega Man games, because somehow he's been in 50+ games and still hasn't appeared in a JRPG.
Also: are Pikmin psychopaths? Does anyone else miss instruction manuals? Can you self-Inception, or is that just thinking? We discuss the big questions.

In this 40th episode and the final one before Jackson turns 40, Bill has a whole bunch of tactics games to talk about, while Jackson is almost through Triangle Strategy, and we're both looking forward to Tactics Ogre: Reborn.
Is the Switch going to keep going, or is Nintendo planning something new? Are we ever going to see Metroid Prime 4? What about Kirby's Dream Course 2?
Also, is it worth paying $100,000 to not play Diablo Immortals? And what controllers are the best controllers?

More TMNT is heading our way next month, but is it the right style for Bill? What about for Bill 2 or Bill 3? We're asking the tough questions this week. Sonic Frontiers looks more and more likely to hit its Holiday 2022, but we're still too stupid to understand what makes an open-zone different from an open-world.
With Tactics Ogre: Reborn looking more and more confirmed, what about the previous Ogre games? We would like those, please.
Also, we take shots at fast food and of course Shadow of the Colossus.

Bill has finished all 4 of the Triangle Strategy paths, which makes sense because triangles have 4 sides. Or something. Find out what's next on his list.
Jackson has not yet finished with TS, but he's doing the work. Baby stepping! And did he make good on his promise to start Guardians of the Galaxy? We also have new ridiculous game ideas for BvB Studios whenever it gets off the ground, with Little G getting in on the action.
Plus: are people who drive to ridiculous lengths to save a couple cents per gallon on gas crazy? And we've got the facts on the best noodles for mac & cheese.

Jackson has already gotten a Platinum trophy for the PS5, equalling his total from the entire PS4 generation. And Bill had time to play games this week. Suffice it to say, it's been a big week.
TMNT: Shredder's Revenge and Cuphead are both off to strong starts. Sonic Frontiers is still too much for the average mortal to comprehend. Kurtwood Smith does not get the respect he deserves, and more.
Also: 6 year olds do not make great video game copilots, Donald Duck does not make a good battle companion, and we settle which will kill Jackson more quickly out of a Sharknado and a Spidernado.

It was a bit of a rough week in gaming news, with mostly negative things to report. Are people spending ridiculous amounts of money on mediocre games? Yup. Will we be getting GTA4 upgrades? Nope. Is there any sign of life in Sly Cooper? Nope. Everything is awful!
Also, Jackson's microphone sounds a little off this week, so we'll work on getting that taken care of for next week. Apologies!
