  • Bside Incoming: Wes Baggaley
    Bside Incoming: Wes Baggaley
This one comes from Wigan’s finest, a DJ at the beating heart of queer clubbing, a Bside purist, and a man capable of evoking a moustache envy in any of us. Wes Baggaley.
He’s long been held in high regard by the gay scene of both Manchester and London for his exceptional taste and technicality at the turntables. His 2017 Boiler Room appearance brought him the wider notoriety he deserves and he has since toured many of Europe’s hottest spots.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXhraJlRp0k
Famed for his sets at Glastonbury’s Block9 (Gideon Berger’s House and Techno Utopia) and his Bottom Heavy residency with Dan Beaumont at the Dalston Superstore where he displays his scintillating style of 4/4 Dance Music that never fails to energise.
This episode of Bside will offer a deviation from the music Wes has built a reputation around, and rather take a trip down memory lane with the music that made him: New Wave, Indie Rock, Ska, EXTREME Metal, with a consistent streak of Punk.

  • Bside Incoming: Wonja
    Bside Incoming: Wonja
This episode of Bside Incoming is the Californian creation of a New Englander. An artist with an original sound, excellent taste, and as always, an incredible collection of music. Wonja
The journey began with her formative experience on local and college radio, where a community of like minded music lovers helped to expand Wonja’s sonic horizons. While house and techno form the basis of her live DJ sets she has an intriguing specialist subject: Gamelan, a percussive genre based on the use of metallophone and wood instruments.
Her audiences are usually small, intimate, and local. So it’s a pleasure to transport her intriguing style beyond its ordinary confines. If you like the taste of this, be sure to tune into her Do/While mixtape with DJML. The duo are soon to release an LP on Soda Gong as Motoko and Myers. We’ve got our ears to the ground for this one!
    https://soundcloud.com/wonj?fbclid=IwAR0PRI6FNHzvLlBCJYRR2seEnpbhZnXIAS1gHhZT9PcqVcvZmVDmOjrjwYU
Starting out with extra-terrestrial sounds, slowly winding down to the ground. Eerie beats, relaxing ambiance, nostalgically natural sounds, and splash of spoken word.

    And her amazing Do/While series - https://soundcloud.com/wonj/sets/do-while

    Bside Incoming: Freedom Of Groovement
We are very pleased to present Tem from Freedom of Groovement on the Bside Incoming Series. He’s an event promoter, music researcher and a bit of a music obsessive.
The ethos is : No Borders on the Dancefloor. Not only does the music break the bounds of geography and explore all avenues but their projects also have a global outreach. Contributing to Amsterdam’s Radio Tempo Não Pára, more recently with HMTW in Curitiba Brazil, but it was with Bristol based 1020 radio where the journey began.
Each episode on 1020 explores the music of one Nation, the underground, the sub-genres, the particular taste of a land.
Pick a country and be transported : https://soundcloud.com/freedomofgroovement
It’s always an intrepid journey across the globe, musical histories, novel sounds, with no stone left unturned… and his episode of Bside is no different.

Here we have a DJ/Producer well respected for his contribution to House and Disco, impeccable edits and dance floor tunes. But this episode of Bside will take us on a trip down memory lane, back to his soulful roots and the influences that ultimately define his sound.
Plying his trade as DJ and record collector in Madrid, Javi would soon share his joyful music with the world. From New York to Mexico City, from Berlin to Cairo, dance floors felt the boogie funk of Javi Frias.

    Bside Incoming: Kinn
This time Bside is broadcasting from San Antonio, Texas. We are transporting you across the Atlantic to hear a record collection of almost 30 years in the making. He’s a man known by many names Sprout, Soco, Rick Lara and Kinn. Whatever he chooses to call himself, it’s a pleasure to be welcomed into his world of musical passion and listen to some of his favourite records.
He has a strong influence in his local scene: Throwing events while he was in the Air Force with the like minded music loving artists of his youth, and continuing with a series of parties across Texas and Oklahoma which culminated in the organisation of a two day festival called Togetherness.
Rick is keen to get back to playing live, but in the meantime his passion for music lives on through his Sprout Sessions, as well as his A&R role with record label Calls and Puts, a chance to connect with other producers and pursue his own EP under his Soco moniker.
We were glad to hear that DJ Kinn is also spending his time reaching out to the youth of today as part of the AM Project. With after school and summer programmes that encourage DJing and production and will surely cultivate his own passion for music withiin generations to come.

A Bside brought to us by the mysterious man of Moscow, renowned in Russia as a serious purveyor of all things exotic, an adventurer returning from the orient with strange and scintillating sounds. We welcome Aman Po-Kaifu.
His passion for music and thirst for knowledge run deep, as founder of a record label, party series promoter, and editor of the VK music blog (https://vk.com/opium.persia).
