    Bside Incoming: Unidentified Flying Music
This week welcomes Yoav Sa’ar, a band member of Garden City Movement, resident DJ at Tel Aviv’s Romano, and father of an amazing youtube channel that goes by his own name: Unidentified Flying Music.
He is a man after our own heart, having made it his vocation to bring to light a huge array of unknown music from across the world. There’s many instant classics in this episode and clearly a wide range of influences. Primarily inspired by his upbringing in the middle east, but beyond that his digging through record shops from far and wide on his touring travels.
He’s shared turntables with some outstanding artists: Antal, Tornado Wallace, Orpheu The Wizard, Jamie Tiller, Young Marco, Lefto, and Raphael Top Secret… oooooft. And featured on the world’s best digital radio stations, The Lot, Le Mellotron, Red Light, Balamii, and of course support of a more local project with Teder FM.
But this week Unidentified Flying Music will step up to the Bside decks with nothing less than the very best from the flip side of his phenomenal vinyl collection.
Expect many different sounds and styles but with distinct downtempo mood throughout, electro, jazz, reggae, and world music with his signature of smooth bopping beats… and the italo song about Mozarella that we never knew we needed, but we do.
Be sure to give his youtube channel a follow, and browse a compilation of his favourite tracks, testament to his impeccable taste:

  • Bside Incoming: Levi Love Disco
    Bside Incoming: Levi Love Disco
This week we continue our international quest, this time venturing through the Black Sea to the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Here we find Levi Berishvili, better known as Levi Love Disco - a young emerging selector from the the Mountain region of Racha, paving his way into the ever exciting Georgian music scene.
At the age of 21 he has had an impressive run with his DJing, spinning his records in clubs and festivals of high caliber; Club Der Visionare , Khidi , Mountain festival , and his 3 year long residency in 2018 with Ezo festival.
As his name suggests, his true passion is collecting and sharing disco records from all time periods. However like most of us, he enjoys playing a wide range of music. When playing in clubs and festivals he speaks of taking influence from house DJs such as Ron hardy and Jeremy Underground, fusing disco and house sounds to create the energy and excitement his sets deliver. For his Bside podcast however he starts by taking us on a tour of his favorite jazz records, spanning from calming clarinets and vocals, to eerie trumpets and snares. The second half progresses into positive upbeat disco and soulful sounds.
He is one to keep an eye on for sure... Enjoy!

  • Bside's 2nd Bday! Calum Archibald
    Bside Incoming: Calum Archibald
Bside has turned two years old, it has certainly been an incredible year for the project and we will mark it in the usual fashion, the annual address from the CEO himself, Calum Archibald.
This is an insight into the ever growing record collection of the Bside head honcho. Starting out with some smooth and easy listening, jazz, movie soundtracks, some of the house tracks that brought him back to love with the genre, and of course a few big tunes to see the episode out.
It is a pleasure to celebrate this landmark where it all started, but it’s safe to say the podcast would be nothing without its amazing guests, the guests who take the time to share with us their life’s work of collecting, curating, and spreading all the beautiful music in the world.
So here’s a big birthday thanks to every single artist who has joined us on our journey, thanks for always keeping things interesting, bringing all of your cherished records to the Bside turntables, and broadcasting them to the world.
    Music is for sharing.
Big love from the Bside team.
