Nothing makes the heart grow fonder than two weeks without our Podcast. No need to be alarmed as Jen and Nicole (aka Jennicole) are not breaking up. All is well in That's What We Said paradise. Sadly, Nicole was taken away from the mic to mourn a death in the family. Her loss led to inspiration for today's episode. Losing her grandfather Bernie was hard, but she is grateful (and blessed) for the memories and while she compares the love of her grandfather Bernie and grandmother Bernetta to that of Noah and Ally from Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook, she and Jen can't help but think true love is dead. There is no courting. Chivalry does not exist. Sliding into DMs is not hard. When you are in a relationship with someone, there is a constant one is not good enough. No one communicates and Netflix and Chill is more normal than actual communication. The list goes on and on, but before they dive into all that is true love (or the lack thereof) in today's society, they go through all the pop culture updates. The Royals have captured headlines as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry give the 411 on life with (and without) the Crown. Aaron Rodgers continues to be a Jeopardy nerd, but when he's not studying for that he's thinking about being a dad! A DAD!? JJ has found a home and Dak gets P-A-I-D! This and more in this week's That's What we Said Podcast!
We get it. It's raining, in some places it's snowing and there is not much to do. In this week's That's What We Said Podcast Jen and Nicole acknowledge that amidst the long month of February and a global pandemic there aren't a lot of options to keep busy or be spontaneous. While they start their days off with workout classes and end with fancy cocktails, the in-between time can drag on and they aren't fans of origami or puzzles. However, they do give some ideas - virtual magician? Their pop culture updates run the gambut from #FreeBritney and the NFL free agency circus to Netflix and Kristen Hannah's Firefly Lane.
It's time for chocolate covered strawberries, bubbly and your besties. While there are countless holidays in February, Galentine's Day is the one that we are excited to rally around. In this week's episode of the That's What We Said Podcast, Jen and Nicole chat through fun ways to surprise your friends this year. Before they get into girl time, albeit COVID style, the two dive right into Aaron Rodgers shocker engagement, the latest edition of Cutler's Cuts and the million-dollar question inquiring minds want to know - Why won't Madison LeCroy go away? #galentinesday #valentinesday
This week's That's What We Said Podcast starts off on a somber note as Nicole takes a few moments to grieve the loss of her beloved Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game to the Kansas City Chiefs. It was a great year for Bills Mafia, alas the Super Bowl will come down to a battle between Patrick Mahomes & Tom Brady. However, it quickly gets juicy as both Jen and Nicole dive into their weekly edition of Cutler's Cuts. Are he & Kristin getting back together? What is going on with Southern Charm's Madison LeCroy, who left nothing to the imagination when she shared her texts receipts from Mr. Cutler. Spoiler alert: Jay is still a normal dude, who really didn't do anything wrong. After all the off-screen reality TV drama, they get into this week's main event where they divulge on what constitutes a good man. The list isn't very long, but it's good. First, they must be emotionally available and honest. No cheaters or liars for these girls. They then have a little fun with Nicole's desire for some good ol' fashioned passion and let's just say being a grown-up counts for something.
Nothing says adulting more than purchasing a new furnace or getting a flat tire. Those are all the things Jen has been faced with tackling of late, while Nicole is completely content calling her weekly adulting task preparing for the Bills game. Regardless of what you do to show signs of adulthood, the podcasts hosts encourage their listeners to take it step by step. Start with making your bed every day and realize throughout the journey things get hard. While Nicole is adamant that even the most lofty dreams can come true, in pure realist fashion Jen reminds her that she is not Beyoncé and will more than likely never be Beyoncé. Some helpful tips on Adulting truths can be found here.
In addition to all the tips to mastering adulthood, this week's That's What We said Podcast dives into all the hype around Bridgerton on Netflix the rumored reality TV swap between Very Cavallari and Southern Charm, along with the fact that All American is back on TV. Let's go Crenshaw!
If there was ever a podcast title more appropriate for Jen and Nicole, this one would be it - and it's not something to be proud of. In this week's That's What We Said Podcast episode, the two chat through the pitfalls of overworking - why it's not cool and not necessary to advance on your career. In many instances, it leads to burnout and as Nicole can attest when you're only focused on one thing the rest of your life can somewhat fall to the wayside. Jen gives their listeners a few tips to embrace the grace, instead of the hustle. The two also make their Super Bowl picks and talk through the latest Kimye (Kim and Kanye) break up rumors.
New Year's Resolutions are cliché. Period. So, in this week's episode of the That's What We Said Podcast, Jen and Nicole discuss the commitments they are making to themselves with the coming of the new year. From cancelling all the men of their past, to picking a word that each of them are going to live by, while they don't have all the answers, the two are more than ready to give 2021 a good old college try. Before getting into the ways they are going to be better humans, they also discuss Jay Cutler's current Uno fetish and the fact that there were more Bachelor breakups throughout the last two weeks than they can track.
Tis the season for holiday love and Christmas magic, from this year's new Netflix rom-com Holidate to Happiest Season and the Christmas Chronicles, there are so many good movies to enjoy. That's What We Said Podcast hosts Jen and Nicole banter through their favorites types of movies. Jen loves a good holiday comedy like the Elf, and Nicole is a hopeless romantic who cries every time they find true love in the end. As they wrap up 2020 and their holiday content, the duo wish everyone a Happy Holidays and encourage everyone to stay safe.
No holiday would be complete without giving friends, family and loved ones something special. So, it was only fitting that Jen and Nicole went through their tips on finding the coolest presents this holiday season. From shopping local and getting creative to finding deals, they cover it all! This week's episode of the That's What We Said Podcast would not be complete without paying tribute to Jen's birthday! Shoutouts go to Girl Tribe, Charlotte Candle Company, Social Laughs, Evelyn Henson among many others! Shop responsibly, everyone!
