A Desperate Plea Answered with Racism?

This week on BuddyWalk with Jesus we're getting uncomfortable. We've made it to Matthew 15 and baked into this section of scripture is a very controversial scene involving Jesus and a Canaanite woman.

While this might be uncomfortable there are two major topics in the short section that we need to discuss in order to fully comprehend Jesus, His ministry and His heart for people.

Unfortunately we live in a time of soundbytes and short form content and the topic of Jesus and racism is one that has been big over the last few years on social media, YouTube, etc and the reality is we need to discuss this. Especially given who all makes up the BuddyWalk Community.

So strap in and let's go for it.

Traditions Over Discipleship from Christ? (Matthew Series)

If you need prayer, don't hesitate to reach out at [email protected]

This week we're covering one of the most famous scenes of the Bible...Jesus and Peter walking on the water. Jesus famously uses the phrase "little faith" with Peter in response to Peter's fear of the storms on the sea and we're going to unpack what phrase means and the power behind what it means to single-mindedly follow Christ.

From there we're moving onto Jesus's response to the Pharisees when they don't follow the traditions set forth by them. Baked into this section of scripture is an undercurrent of the realities of Discipleship  and we're talking about what it means to allow yourself to be discipled by Jesus.

If you need prayer, don't hesitate to reach out at [email protected]

This week we're continuing our coverage of the Parables of Jesus in Matthew 13. We'll be discussing the beautiful picture we are given of the heart that Jesus has for people and the character of God that is reflected.

We then move onto the death of John the Baptist and discuss why it's so important to remember our place in all of this.

Jesus references a few times the fact that there will be division until the end of the age and provides examples of just how beautiful it is when we remember who is in control.

We're also jumping into if Jesus did this, why don't we see it more in modern day?

We cover the faith of the centurion, cover some of the history behind what it meant for the centurion to come to Jesus and the stunning faith he displayed. Then we end off the episode by discussing Jesus's very honest display what the cost is of following Him.

This week we're diving into Matthew Chapter 7. We're covering the entire chapter this week so strap in because this is a loaded episode!

We're jumping into what biblical judgement looks like for the Christian. In today's society it's quote "It's not my place to judge" but is that biblical? What does right judgement look like? I'm well aware of how many different versions of that question have been talked about poorly. So this we the aim is to discuss this top with care and accuracy. So if that's something you struggle with, join us.

We unpack the accurate meaning of what Jesus means when He says to Ask, Seek and Knock as well as "Ask and you shall receive" and what it means to build your house upon the rock.
