It's Christmas Day ... and also "The Holiday Season."

Should you release new podcast episodes during this time? Take time off? 

There are two ways of looking at a holiday schedule for your podcast.

1. Your listeners are busy with "holiday" things and won't have time to listen to your podcast.
2. Your listeners have more downtime than normal and, because of this, are more likely to listen to your podcast.

If you want to take a break from publishing your podcast during certain holidays, by all means do. But also keep in mind that, because a lot of podcasters are taking breaks from publishing, and many listeners have extra time around the holidays to listen to podcasts (such as during a commute to see family), you'll have an increased shot to your podcast being consumed.

Either option is a good one. Nobody would fault you for taking a break, especially at this time of year. Also, we live in a big world, with lots of holidays, many of which aren't celebrated everywhere, so there is opportunity there as well.

There is also a third reason you may want to think about. And I discuss that on this episode.

Feedback on your podcast (or any work) can be difficult. I get that – it's easy to get attached to what you do.   So what happens when you get feedback on your podcast? For many podcasters, the first thing they do is to dig their heels in and defend what we've been doing. I get that, too. It's different on the inside, and as a podcaster, there are things about your podcast that only you know, and you likely have good reasons for doing what you're doing.
Still, feelback, even "negative" feedback, can be very helpful to making your podcast better.
