This week's episode of Build Your Alpha references Episode 23: You Matter - Always Remember That, but with a focus around how we over-value others perception of ourselves, and we under-value our own perception of who we truly are. It discusses a point in "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius and how we live in a world where outside validation is so prevalent. However, we need to remember that our own opinion and perception of ourselves is the only one that matters.

This week's episode talks about making decisions. That each time we make a decision it is a fork in the road, but that the fork in the road never leads to a dead end. Life continues on regardless of the decision we made turns out to be good or bad for us. That each decision is made based on current circumstances and knowledge, and that after each decision we can never go back because we know have more information and our circumstances have changed. We have to continue forward, whether it's continuing away from the prior path and making that next decision as a choice to move farther away, or that next decision is to move closer back to the original path. We can never go back to that same exact path we were on before. 

This week's episode talks about how we each have the power and opportunity to achieve what we want. If you want better, then be better, and to be better you have to do better. This is a call to action for you to take responsibility and see how much of a positive impact you can have on your life. IF you chose to do better.

Happy 2022 Everyone! Welcome to the 2nd Annual Year In Review Episode - this week focuses on the goals I set for myself in 2021, which I reached and which I didn't. What I learned from hitting and missing these goals for myself, as well as how I plan to incorporate those lessons to help achieve the goals I'm setting for 2022. Again in 2022 the goals that I'm setting are aligned with Mental, Financial, and Physical Well-Being. But how they also align with my why and why each of them are important to me and who I am.

This week's episode focuses on being able to enjoy the present. How we all experience feelings of nostalgia and anticipation.  How those are both very real personal experiences and feelings that are important. However, we shouldn't allow those feelings to be the sole "decision maker" for our current decisions. We are not who we used to be anymore, and we don't know exactly who we are going to be in the the future. We only know who we are right now and we should appreciate that and the people, things, experiences that are a part of it.

This week's episode is a bit different than week's past. This week we're talking about Jack Sparrow and how some of his key attributes are things that align with who I am and who I want to be. How we may have that person, that book/movie/tv show character that we can relate to so well, but might not totally know why. Recently had that "ah ha" moment and realized that these characters we align with and relate to, that are so memorable for us, are because of the characteristics that they have and how they are important to us in some way.

This week's episode talks about the importance of believing in yourself. Believing in yourself to be able to be that person, reach that goal, accomplish that thing. Muhammed Ali, one of the best boxers ever in the history of the sport throughout his life would exclaim to anyone that would listen - "I am the greatest!". We need to have that same internal belief in ourselves to go for those things that we want in our lives.

This week's episode talks about how we all have our own potential that we can reach. That the highs and lows that we experience in our lives actually help us to reach what our potential is. The highs and lows of our lives are actually the best thing because it allows us to reach our potential faster than if we never challenged ourselves and always went with the status quo.

This week's episode talks about a topic from Gary John Bishop's book Unfu*k Yourself how unwillingness can lead to major changes in your life for the better. That being unwilling to tolerate situations, relationships, really anything can be a strong motivating force to take action and no longer accept those things in your life. Being unwilling to tolerate different things has helped me over the years develop into who I am now.

This week's episode focuses on the internal self-talk that we have with ourselves every single day. How we each have value and are worth investing in, and how we need to always remember that. No matter what other people say, we need to keep a positive conversation with ourselves to always know that we are valuable.
