We all have weaknesses and imperfections that, had it not been for Jesus, would've kept us from sitting at the Lord's table. But because of Christ's righteousness, and the Lord's great kindness, Grace has rained down upon us and opened heaven's doors. In today's message, Pastor Ed encourages us that because of Jesus, we can sit and eat with Him at His table-- knowing full well that, in Him our insufficiencies are covered. Because of the King's Grace, we've been saved!

Do you ever have times where you look back and marvel at the ways God's delivered you from particularly difficult events? David wanted God to be the center of his people's lives. He desired to put God first and he was blessed. No matter your circumstances, you're in a unique position to raise God up and magnify Him. We can do this in our homes, at our schools and jobs, in our cities, and our countries. When we build these things around God, the rest falls into place!

What are your heart's desires? Do you long after the things of the world or do you want to draw nearer to God? For many of us, the answer may be mixed: a little bit of both. But in today's message, Pastor Ed encourages us to ask God to change our desires to be aligned with Him. This way we'd yearn to be in the Word of God, and we'd desire to know Him deeper than we've ever known Him before. What can you do in your daily life to pursue the God who desires to draw near to you?

It's important that we always give credit to God when we experience triumphs in our lives. During times like these, do you revel in the wonderful circumstances and flattering accolades, or are you quick to hand over praise to the Lord? Pastor Ed reminds us today that we accomplish nothing without the Lord. His hand is in everything we do. The victory is never in us; it's always in the Lord! Our God is always with us, so we should always honor His name for the good things He's done for us!

Have you ever experienced a time where you went through a spiritual conquest? Perhaps you were called into new terrain and you had no idea how to tackle it by your own strength. In today's message, Pastor Ed teaches about the battles and struggles David faced when he was going after Jerusalem. Though he encountered skepticism, doubts, and taunts from the enemy, David held onto his faith and experienced victory in God. May we all allow the Faith of the Lord to govern our lives too.

We need to be careful of people using religion for personal gain! There are some who will share Christian messages, and rattle off Bible verses, but have no real connection to God! These people have an agenda, and they aren't interested in actually pursuing God in the process. In today's message, Pastor Ed reminds us to be rooted in God so that we can spot these charlatans! When we allow God to guide our lives, He will make it apparent where He wants us to go, and who He wants us to serve!

From the moment God sent Samuel to anoint David as the King of Israel to the time David actually ascended the throne, a lot of life happened! Pastor Ed tells us in today's message that over 20 years, several wars and death threats, and a great deal of uncertainty filled that gap! Right now, you too may be in a holding pattern, waiting for God to start the life He promised you, and you may be asking why you had to wait! Pastor Ed assures us that God is still in control, and that He always keeps His promises!

When we find ourselves in times of difficulty, it's easy to become depressed and give up on the people around us. Pastor Ed today reminds us of the life of David, and urges us in those times to turn to God! Although David was to be King of Israel, his path to the throne was anything but easy! Even so, David kept his eyes on God, allowing his actions to mirror his Creator's! David's heart was even softened toward his enemy, and he was able to honor King Saul's death despite their continual feud!

In today's message, Pastor Ed discusses honoring those who lead, despite their mistakes. David honored the life of King Saul, remembering that God had placed him in the position of King. We may not agree with our leaders, but we aren't the ones they to whom they will give an account of their actions! Instead of talking badly about them, we should pray for our leaders! Our pastors, government, and even our bosses need God in their lives, to guide them and teach them as they guide and teach us!
